Stop Deceptive Russian Recruitment to the Frontline

Foreign nationals are increasingly being targeted with deceptive offers of employment, attractive salaries and promises of a better future — only to find themselves recruited to fight on the frontline in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The specialised website www.stoprussianrecruiters.org, created by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, provides verified and up-to-date information on Russia’s recruitment practices, associated risks, documented testimonies, analytical materials and other relevant information.

The platform also offers practical assistance to foreign nationals recruited by Russia and their families, including the opportunity to:

🔹 Report a recruiter and anonymously provide information about recruitment channels;
🔹 Choose life and learn about the possibility of voluntarily surrendering to Ukrainian forces;
🔹 Find a person and seek information about Russian servicemen who have been captured, killed or gone missing in Ukraine.

🌐 The information is available in English.

Do not let yourself be deceived. Information is the first step towards protecting yourself from Russian recruitment.

Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha highlighted Ukraine’s growing agency on the international stage, particularly due to its role in global security, in his address to participants on the first day of the 2026 Annual Ambassadors Conference.

💬 “Ukraine is becoming a security contributor. When I speak with many of our partners today, they compare Ukraine to a boxer fighting in a much higher – perhaps even the highest – weight class, taking the punches while delivering asymmetric knockdowns to the enemy,” Andrii Sybiha stressed.

💬🇺🇦 "Ukraine continues to do everything in its power to ensure that this war has the prospect of a diplomatic resolution. One of the key claims made by Ukraine's opponents and by those who trust dubious sources is that we in Ukraine supposedly want the war to continue," shared President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Ambassador's Conference 2026.

"And for there to be a diplomatic path, there must be no obstacles to it in any influential capital in the world. When Moscow does not want peace, Washington and Beijing can make it want peace. And we are doing everything possible to ensure that the capitals of Europe, which Russia does not particularly want to take into account, reach a level where Russia can no longer ignore Europe."

This year's Ambassador’s Conference has started!
💬 "Ukrainian diplomacy is a diplomacy of strength. A diplomacy at the cutting edge. A diplomacy that never stands on the sidelines.
We are grateful to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his leadership and pivotal role in securing the most crucial decisions.
We are preparing for the new political season. Rallying international support to bolster resilience and make it through the winter, strengthening air defense, and escalating pressure on the aggressor.
Every ambassador and permanent representative must serve as a strong voice for Ukraine across all capitals and headquarters.
Diplomacy must be grounded and concrete. That is precisely why we kicked off the agenda for this meeting in the Chernihiv region.
As long as the war continues, no diplomatic effort can ever be considered enough. That is why we work toward the main objective: restoring peace and reinforcing Ukraine’s leadership," Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has stressed.

🧩 The Puzzle of Unity series continues with another story from Ukraine’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Today, we share more about Kazymyr Malevych.

The artist was born in Kyiv in 1879. He taught for several years at the Kyiv Art Institute and became a leading figure of the Ukrainian artistic avant-garde, founding his own schools of painting and architecture.

Malevych created Suprematism – an art movement that completely rejected the depiction of real objects in favour of compositions based on geometric forms. Black Square is among the most famous works created by the artist. He also occasionally turned to figurative subjects, as in Sportsmen.

Short fact: for decades, Malevych was labelled as "Russian" artist in museums worldwide, along with many others whose heritage Russia has sought to appropriate. Today, however, institutions such as Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum have begun correcting the record, recognising him as a Ukrainian.

Russia keeps choosing terror again and again. Over the past seven days only, Russia launched thousands of drones, bombs, and missiles, including ballistic, against Ukraine.

The attacks reached 16 Ukrainian regions, damaging over 1,500 civilian sites, among them hundreds of homes.

Even today, Russian guided aerial bombs struck Sumy, while a drone attack on Brovary killed one person and injured six others.

Russia continues to expand its capacity to produce missiles, bombs, and drones. Too many manufacturers supplying its military industry remain outside international sanctions.

Every loophole left open helps sustain Russia’s attacks. Stronger sanctions on Russia, together with greater support for Ukraine’s air defence, are essential to save lives.

🧩 With the Puzzle of Unity series, we continue exploring different parts of Ukraine through their cultural and historical symbols. Today's story is about kobzars – wandering singers who performed heroic epic songs about Ukrainians' struggle for freedom.

Kobza art is a cultural practice that emerged in the 16th century and lasted for more than 400 years. Kobzars were predominantly elderly, visually impaired men who travelled through villages and fairs, playing the bandura, kobza, or wheel lyre, accompanied by young guides.

The tradition suffered devastating losses in the 1930s, when Soviet authorities carried out mass arrests and executions of kobzars who preserved Ukrainian cultural identity. Since the late 20th century, however, it has been undergoing a revival: today, dozens of kobzar schools and brotherhoods are actively passing this art on to new generations.

Short fact: in 2024, Ukrainian kobza and wheel lyre tradition was included in UNESCO's Register of Good Safeguarding Practices.

❗️As Russia launched another massive overnight attack against Ukraine, one of its cruise missiles violated Polish and NATO airspace.
Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha called for urgent decisions to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence and increase pressure on the aggressor. "Our top priority must be our shared security," he stressed.
"Strengthening Ukraine’s air defense now is urgent and serves as a guarantee for the protection of the entire Euro-Atlantic community." Andrii Sybiha said.

Russia’s large-scale attack killed at least eight people across Ukraine and injured dozens more on the night of July 30.
In the Dnipro region, a Russian ballistic missile destroyed a family home in Radushne, killing two parents and three children. Two more children were rescued alive from the rubble. One person was also killed by Russia in Kyiv and another in the Poltava region. In Lviv, rescue teams continue searching through the debris of a residential building hit by Russia.
Overnight, Russia launched more than 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles, and over 280 attack drones, targeting Kyiv, as well as our Dnipro, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Ukraine’s defenders continue to achieve extraordinary results despite a critical shortage of air defence missiles. Their professionalism saves lives every day, but delayed deliveries of anti-ballistic missiles mean more destruction and more civilian casualties.
Ukraine’s partners know how they can help. Timely deliveries of air defence systems and interceptor missiles save lives.
