Earlier this week, CG Chandra Kumar met and hosted a meal for our Singapore representatives who participated in the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorisation, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran (1448H / 2026) held in Makkah from 6 to 19 August.

This year saw the biggest delegation from Singapore and including female participants since the competition has started opening up for both genders.

We hope it was a meaningful experience for them, and we thank our Saudi organisers for the warm and generous hospitality given to the participants.

📷 On World Photography Day, we celebrate the power of photography to capture not only places, but also moments, meanings and memories that bring people closer together.

Through the lenses of three Singaporeans who are staying in or have visited Jeddah, we catch glimpses of a city where history and modernity meet - from the timeless charm of Al-Balad and the beauty of the Red Sea, to the everyday scenes, colours and rhythms that make Jeddah unique.

Each photograph offers a personal perspective on a city that many Singaporeans have come to know and appreciate. Today, we share some of these moments captured through the eyes of the talented photographers amongst us:

1. Photos 1-3: Mr Helmy Alsagaff (Helmy AlSagaff) - a long-staying Singaporean in Jeddah.

2. Photos 4-6: Mr Taufiq Majeed (TauFiq Majeed) - Vice Consul (Haj) at the Consulate-General.

3. Photos 7-9: Mr Noor Iskandar (Noor Iskandar) - A visiting Singaporean to Jeddah.

Happy World Photography Day!

Last weekend, CG Chandra Kumar attended the ASEAN Day Dinner and Flag-Hoisting Ceremony organised by the Philippines Consulate-General in Jeddah. Together with the Consulates-General of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand and Secretary Hans Leo J Cacdac of the Philippines Department of Migrant Workers, CG Chandra witnessed the ceremony which reflected on ASEAN’s 59 years of unity and togetherness.

We look forward to Singapore’s ASEAN Chairmanship next year to continue this flag-hoisting tradition amongst the ASEAN Consulates-General in Jeddah.

I delivered this year’s National Day Message from the National Stadium, where we will be having our parade tomorrow.

In this changed world, our shared values of unity, openness and resilience will matter more than ever. This year marks 60 years since our National Pledge was first introduced. Its words and ideals continue to resonate today. They remind us of the kind of society we aspire to build together, and of our shared responsibility to make Singapore a better home for everyone.

Happy 61st National Day, Singapore!

As Singapore embarks on our seventh decade of nationhood, we celebrate the resilience, determination and unity that have brought us this far - and the boundless potential that lies ahead.

May we continue to Go Beyond: beyond ourselves, beyond the ordinary, beyond our size, and beyond our limits. Together, as one people, let us keep reaching higher, caring for one another, and building a stronger and brighter future for generations to come.

A Decade of Exceptional Service

Every year, Singapore's Foreign Ministry celebrates our long-serving staff including local staff hired by overseas missions.

This year, we commemorate our Administrative and Consular Assistant Mr Shihabudheen Ummer's decade of exceptional service. Since May 2015, Shihab - as he is more dearly referred to - has served Singapore and Singaporeans in the Western Region with utmost dedication and unwavering commitment. From day-to-day services to complicated consular cases at different nooks of the Kingdom, many would remember Shihab as the smiley face and warm persona of the Consulate-General.

Thank you Shihab!
