المجلس الوطني أنشئ عام 1443هـ / 2022 م برئاسة معالي وزير الموارد البشرية والتنمية الاجتماعية وعضوية 16 جهة حكومية ويسعى إلى حوكمة السلامة والصحة المهنية وتنسيق الأدوار بين الجهات الحكومية ذات العلاقة ومتابعة تنفيذ السياسة الوطنية للسلامة والصحة المهنية، من خلال مراجعة التشريعات والأنظمة واللوائح والبرامج وتقديم الاستشارات والدعم الفني للمنشآت و تطوير واعتماد هيكل حوكمة موحد وتعزيز التعاون بين أصحا
ب العمل والعاملين وممثليهم لضمان سلامة العاملين والعاملات باعتبارها حق أصيل لهم، وذلك باتباع أفضل الأساليب والممارسات التي تعزز دور المملكة محليا ودوليا في مجال السلامة والصحة المهنية .
يعكس المجلس الجهود التي بذلتها المملكة في السلامة والصحة المهنية انطلاقا من أهداف برنامج التحول الوطني وتماشياً مع أهداف رؤية السعودية 2030، والتي تأتي انطلاقا من اهتمام القيادة الرشيدة بجميع ما يتعلق بتعزيز السلامة والصحة المهنية وبما يتوافق مع المعايير والأنظمة المحلية والمعاهدات والاتفاقيات التي تكون المملكة طرفا فيها، ومع أفضل الممارسات العالمية باعتبارها ضرورة حيوية لمواكبة النهضة التنموية والتطور الاقتصادي والاجتماعي الذي تشهده المملكة مما يعزز صورة المملكة إقليماً ودولياً. The council was established in 1443H\2022, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, with the membership of 16 governmental entities. It aims to govern OSH, coordinate the roles among the related government entities, and follow up the OSH policy implementation, through reviewing legislations, systems, regulations and programs, as well as providing consultations and technical support for enterprises, developing and adopting a unified governance structure and promoting collaboration among the employers, employees and their representatives to ensure the workers’ safety as a fundamental right by following the best practices to promote the Kingdom’s role nationally and globally in the OSH field. The council reflects the Kingdom's committed efforts in Occupational Safety and Health, which are based on the National Transformation Program goals and are consistent with Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision. This results from the wise leadership's desire to strengthen OSH in accordance with national standards and systems, conventions to which the Kingdom is a party, and best international practices as a critical component of keeping up with the social and economic development that the Kingdom witnessed and that enhances Saudi Arabia's reputation in the region and globally.
