Today we bid farewell to Mr. Allen Cedras, who proudly served as the Chief Executive of SPGA, over the last 5 years. His steadfast leadership and vision has driven SPGA to new heights, and his dedication and passion for conservation has inspired us all to continue our mandate with perseverance.

We are deeply grateful for the journey you have led SPGA on, the milestones achieved, and the values instilled. Thank you for guiding the Authority with purpose and pride. We wish Mr.Cedras every success, joy, and fulfillment in the chapters ahead.

Today reminds us of the vital importance of protecting the rich variety of life on our planet. Biodiversity sustains our ecosystems, supports livelihoods, and ensures resilience for generations. Safeguarding it is not just a responsibility—it is a shared duty to preserve the natural heritage that defines us.

To mark this global celebration, we proudly hosted a tree‑planting and guided experience at the Biodiversity Centre, joined by our valued partners from the banking sector. Together, we strengthened our collective commitment to conserving Seychelles’ unique biodiversity.

The first two days of the ongoing Marine Enforcement Training have been a dynamic exchange of experiences and insights, with our team, consultants and participating stakeholders sharing their diverse enforcement strategies. These discussions continue to strengthen collaboration, broaden perspectives, and lay the groundwork for more effective approaches moving forward.

This morning, we proudly opened the Marine Enforcement Training Programme. The training was officially launched by Principal Secretary Mrs. Nanette Laure, in the presence of SPGA Board members, management team and heads of different partner organisations.

Developed under the SPGA Hifadhi Blu Project Grant, the week‑long training brings together enforcement officers and conservation partners, to strengthen skills in surveillance, evidence handling, and enforcement techniques — ensuring stronger protection of Seychelles’ marine ecosystems.

The programme is being facilitated by two seasoned consultants from the WildAid Marine Programme, Mr. Gregg Casad and Mr. Robert Farrell, whose expertise will guide participants through both classroom and field sessions.

Together with our partners from the Maldvies, Madagascar, ICS Seychelles, Marine Conservation Society Seychelles (MCSS), Nature Seychelles , Seychelles Fisheries Authority , Seychelles Islands Foundation - SIF and the Department of Blue Economy - Seychelles we are building capacity for resilient oceans. 💙🌍
