President Dr Patrick Herminie is already delivering on issues raised during his Inner Islands tour, with Cabinet approving the extension of concessions that will provide continued relief to local maritime operators serving Seychelles' inter island transport network.

Cabinet has approved the extension of an existing derogation on selected provisions under the Harbour (Port and Harbour Dues) Regulations, Schedule 2, providing continued relief to local coastal and hire craft operators engaged in inter island transport and maritime activities.

The approved measures include the continuation of reduced berth dues for local cargo vessels during non operational hours, fixed monthly berthing rates for resident hire craft operators on Praslin and La Digue, a 30 per cent discount on ramp usage fees, and concessions for vessels undergoing repairs and maintenance.

Cabinet noted that the extension is intended to support economic continuity across the islands, strengthen inter island transport services and provide greater operational stability for the maritime sector, which plays a vital role in connecting communities and sustaining economic activity across Seychelles.
