Dear all followers,

After June 30, the International Secretariat will be closed down at Värmland County Administrative Board and so also this account. The background is that Värmland County Administrative Board will receive less funding applying for international projects in the future.

We thank all of you who have worked with us in various international projects and everyone who has followed our work here over the years. We hope to see you again in other contexts.

The pilot BROADEN within the Interreg NSR project CORA deploys fibre optics across the borders of Sweden and Norway, in a rural area that is extremely sparsely populated. As the costs for the Swedish municipality of Torsby and the Norwegian municipality of Grue would be extreme to cover individually, the cooperation between then benefited both sides. In the end the project’s funding was a blend of local, regional and EU funds and the innovative model can be applied in other border areas in Europe.

I EU-projektet CORA har Torsby kommun och Länsstyrelsen Värmland samarbetat med Grue kommune och Innlandet fylkeskommune, Norge i en pilot där en bredbandslösning över gränsen mellan de två länderna genomförts.

We are at a partner meeting of the Interreg North Sea Region project Catch in the fjord city of Vejle Kommune, Denmark. Catch, a project on climate adaptation for midsize cities in the North Sea Region began five years ago. During the workshops the partners exchange the final developments in their pilots, the lessons learned and the news on the learning communities they have started in their countries.

In the picture is Karin de Beer, climate adaptation coordinator in Värmland County Administrative Board, who is working in the project.
