Just hours after the US President’s peace envoys left Kyiv, Russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine's capital and several other regions of Ukraine.

The strikes on Kyiv killed at least two people and injured at least ten others. The capital suffered significant damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

Critical infrastructure was hit in Kyiv region, while in Odesa region, Russia struck an ordinary market. Two people were injured in Kharkiv, where an apartment building was damaged. In Sumy region, a railway locomotive was attacked at a station this morning. Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro regions also came under attack.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed 175 aerial targets overnight, but not all threats could be stopped. Ballistic missiles remain particularly difficult to intercept. Ukraine continues to raise the urgent need for more interceptors with our American and European partners.
Further meetings are taking place today with countries and companies that can help strengthen Ukraine’s air defence and support our FREYJA anti-ballistic system.

151 years ago, on September 7, Ukrainian painter Oleksandr Murashko was born in Kyiv.

His life was connected with art from childhood: his stepfather was an icon painter and his uncle founded an art school in Kyiv. Murashko, however, did not want to follow his path – he dreamed of studying at an art academy. He eventually entered it and studied under the famous Ukrainian painter Ilya Ripyn.

Later, inspired by the Impressionists during his stay in Paris, Murashko moved away from academic rules and began experimenting with new approaches to painting. He developed his own distinctive style, combining Impressionism, Modernism and Realism, and gained international recognition.

Back in Kyiv, Murashko taught, ran his own studio and helped establish the Ukrainian Academy of Arts in 1917. He was killed in 1919 during the second Bolshevik invasion of Kyiv.

Today, Oleksandr Murashko is remembered as one of the artists who helped shape modern Ukrainian art – and his paintings remain an important part of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

Такі зустрічі стали вже традицією та важливою платформою для відкритого діалогу, обміну інформацією і координації спільних дій для підтримки України та українців у Швеції.

Під час зустрічі пані посол Світлана Заліщук разом із колегами-дипломатами представили актуальні результати роботи посольства та ключові напрями подальшої діяльності.

🔹 Keep Ukraine Warm 2.0 — підготовка до зимового періоду та можливості долучення до кампанії на підтримку енергетичної стійкості України;

🔹 захист прав українців та взаємодія громадських організацій із радницею Уповноваженого Верховної Ради України з прав людини у Швеції;
🔹 захист дітей та підтримка вразливих категорій — результати роботи ініціативної групи та подальші кроки;
🔹 українські недільні школи у Швеції — їхня діяльність, потреби та можливості для подальшої співпраці.

Дякуємо всім учасникам за активність, конструктивність та готовність працювати разом. Саме через регулярний діалог і координацію ми можемо посилювати український голос у Швеції та робити більше для України.

Support the fundraiser for 10 fully equipped ambulances for Ukraine!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has joined the UNITED24 campaign launched with former astronaut, EMT and UNITED24 ambassador Scott Kelly to raise $1.2 million for 10 modern ambulances.

Ukrainian medics work under fire and travel through damaged roads to evacuate the wounded. Russian forces also target evacuation teams, including when they are helping civilians or heavily wounded soldiers.

Unlike standard ambulances, armoured evacuation vehicles are built to withstand enemy fire. They are faster and more agile, helping medics reach the wounded quickly and safely. More protection means more lives saved.

3 вересня у Стокгольмі відбувся енергетичний семінар, присвячений актуальним викликам українського енергетичного сектору, нагальним потребам його відновлення та перспективам поглиблення українсько-шведського енергетичного партнерства.

Захід об’єднав представників урядів України та Швеції, Шведського агентства з міжнародного співробітництва у сфері розвитку (Sida), Агентства цивільної оборони та стійкості Швеції (MCF), а також представників шведського бізнесу, провідних енергетичних та інженерних компаній.

З вітальними промовами до учасників звернулися Заступник Міністра енергетики України Анатолій Куцевол та Державний секретар Міністра цивільної оборони Швеції Йоган Берггрен.

Посол України у Швеції Світлана Заліщук поінформувала учасників про реалізацію другої фази спільної ініціативи Посольства України та шведських партнерів на підтримку енергетичного сектору України Keep Ukraine Warm.

До дискусії долучився Голова Запорізької обласної військової адміністрації Іван Федоров, який розповів про критичну ситуацію в регіоні та нагальні потреби Запорізької області.
⚡️ Під час семінару обговорили:
* поточний стан української енергетичної системи та першочергові потреби для її відновлення;
* енергетичні виклики Запорізької області та інших українських регіонів;
* подальшу шведську підтримку енергетичної стійкості України;
* практичні рішення щодо закупівлі, транспортування та доставки критично важливого енергетичного обладнання;
* можливості залучення шведського бізнесу до відновлення України;
* інженерні, технологічні та інфраструктурні рішення для формування сучасної енергетики України.

Особливо важливим стало залучення до дискусії представників шведського бізнесу. Адже відновлення України — це не лише питання державної допомоги. Це також нові партнерства, сучасні технології, інвестиції та можливості для спільного розвитку.

Україна високо цінує послідовну, практичну та солідарну підтримку Швеції, яка залишається одним із ключових партнерів України у зміцненні енергетичної стійкості.

Наше амбітне завдання — перейти від екстреної допомоги до довгострокового українсько-шведського енергетичного партнерства та разом створити сучасну, децентралізовану, стійку й зелену енергетичну систему України.

Сьогодні, 1 вересня, в Україні розпочинається новий навчальний рік. 🎓

Для українських дітей, які тимчасово або постійно перебувають за кордоном, зберегти зв’язок з українською освітою – означає мати можливість продовжувати навчання за українськими стандартами та отримати документ про освіту державного зразка.

Одну з таких можливостей надає Державний ліцей «Міжнародна українська школа» (МУШ).

МУШ забезпечує здобуття початкової, базової та повної загальної середньої освіти для дітей-громадян України, які проживають за кордоном. Навчання відбувається у гнучкому екстернатному форматі, що дозволяє дитині навчатися у зручному темпі та поєднувати українську освіту з навчанням у школі країни перебування.

МУШ також відкрита до співпраці з українськими освітніми осередками за кордоном. Така співпраця допомагає забезпечити учнів українським компонентом освіти, методичну підтримку педагогів та можливість отримання українських документів про освіту.

On Friday, the air-raid siren sounded in the centre of Stockholm, and 250 people – including the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, foreign diplomats and politicians – gathered in a civil defence shelter.

But it was not because of an attack.

It was where we chose to mark 35 years of Ukraine’s restored independence – a place unusual to our foreign guests, but very familiar to every Ukrainian.
As Russia continues its war of aggression and attacks Ukraine every day, people across our country continue to work, create, perform, meet and celebrate – often in shelters, ready to take cover when the alarm sounds.
That is why bringing this experience to Stockholm mattered.

The event was opened with powerful speeches by Ambassador of Ukraine Svitlana Zalishchuk, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Maria Malmer Stenergard, and Mikael Frisel, Head of the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency.

And then, the alarm sounded.

For a moment, our guests experienced what Ukrainians know all too well: the interruption of everyday life by an air-raid alert and the need to seek shelter.
With visual footage projected onto the walls, for a couple of minutes our guests were transported to Kyiv’s metro, where people take cover during Russian attacks. We heard the sounds of explosions; we saw the walls shaking.

Yet even under attack, Ukraine continues to defend its freedom, preserve its culture and create. And this is what we wanted to show our distinguished guests.

We were honoured to welcome on stage the Ансамбль імені Василя Сліпака - Ensemble of the Cultural Forces of Ukraine named after Vasyl Slipak. All the singers are active-duty members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three of them with direct combat experience. They travelled from Ukraine to perform in Stockholm.

Their performance was also our way of saying thank you to Sweden and to all our partners for standing with Ukraine.

The evening also featured the beautiful Ukrainian singer Sofia Baskakova, bringing the energy and creativity of contemporary Ukrainian culture to the heart of Stockholm.

We are deeply grateful to Vlad Troitsky, artistic director of the event, and the GogolFest/Dakh team for helping create an evening where culture, resilience and total defence came together.

At the end of August, sunflowers bloom across Ukraine’s fields. It was twelve years ago, when in August 2014 these fields became the setting of the events of the Ilovaisk tragedy. As Ukrainian soldiers were leaving the encirclement through the “green” corridor, they were attacked by Russian forces.

Since then, the sunflower has become a symbol of remembrance for Ukraine’s fallen defenders. Every year on August 29, we honour all those who gave their lives defending Ukraine throughout more than 12 years of Russia’s brutal aggression.

We remember their faces, their names, their stories. We bow our heads in honour of every man and woman who gave their life for Ukraine.

Eternal memory to the fallen! 🌻🕯️

Remembering those who gave their lives for Ukraine is part of our lives.

Today is the Day of Remembrance for Ukraine’s fallen defenders – a day that reminds us of the huge price of freedom. But remembrance lives through many more ways – in the way we speak their names, honour them in our cities, and pass their stories on to others.

We remember. And we will never forget.
