Our Freedom250 Independence Day celebration brought together more than 1,200 guests to commemorate America's 250th birthday and nearly 250 years of friendship between the United States and Sweden.

Hosted by U.S. Ambassador Christine J. Toretti, the evening welcomed Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard and U.S. Senators Ted Budd (North Carolina), John Barrasso (Wyoming), Tim Kaine (Virginia), and Alan Armstrong (Oklahoma).

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a replica of the 1783 Treaty of Amity and Commerce, honoring one of America's oldest international friendships.
