[105th Firefighter Course Graduation Ceremony]

Last week, 33 NSF firefighters from the 105thFirefighter Course (FFC) reached a proud milestone as they graduated and begin their journey as frontline responders.

Their NS journey took on added significance when they were specially selected to represent SCDF as members of the Guard-of-Honour Contingent at NDP 2026 — a testament to their exemplary conduct and performance. Balancing the rigorous demands of firefighting and rescue training alongside months of NDP rehearsals was no small feat, yet they rose to the challenge with resilience and completed the challenging FFC with pride.

The ceremony was graced by Deputy Director of the Civil Defence Academy, COL Md Nazim, who marked this milestone with the graduands and commended for proving that they had what it takes to serve with distinction — both on the parade ground and on the frontlines.

As they embark on their new posting to fire stations across Singapore, these firefighters are now ready to answer the call to protect and saves lives and property for a safe and secure Singapore.🧑‍🚒🚒

[181st Basic Rescue Training (PTP) Enlistment]

A warm welcome to our newly enlisted recruits to the life saving force!

This morning, recruits from the 181st Basic Rescue Training (PTP) Intake took their first steps towards their National Service journey as they enlisted for Full-time National Service at Civil Defence Academy.

Amidst the unfamiliar faces, they met fellow recruits who will soon become more than just friends — but trusted buddies and brothers-in-training, sharing the challenges, experiences and memories that lie ahead.

Parents and loved ones who came to see them off were also given a glimpse into the training that awaits.

The highlight of the enlistment was reciting of the Oath of Allegiance, marking a meaningful milestone in their National Service journey.

To our newest recruits, we wish you every success as you begin your journey in the Life Saving Force.

[Basic Rescue Training Passing Out Parade - 180th Intake]

The 180th Intake of Basic Rescue Training (BRT) recruits proudly marked the end of their training with a memorable Passing Out Parade, officially joining the ranks of the Life Saving Force.

Gracing the occasion was Mr Jackson Lam, Member of the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Home Affairs and Law, and Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC. In his address, Mr Lam commended the recruits for their tenacity, dedication and unwavering commitment to serving the nation, while wishing them every success as they embark on the next chapter of their journey with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

A particularly poignant moment of the ceremony was the Beret Presentation, where families and loved ones had the honour of donning the beret on the recruits. Beyond being a cherished milestone, the presentation symbolises the recruits’ transition into their National Service journey as members of the Life Saving Force.

[Exercise COBUG]

*A Milestone Earned. A Commitment Begins*

The 180th Basic Rescue Training (BRT) recruits have successfully completed Exercise COBUG (Collapsed Building)—the final and most challenging of their training at the Basic Rescue Training Centre (BRTC), National Service Training Group (NSTG).

Conducted at the Home Team Tactical Centre (HTTC), the exercise immersed recruits in realistic collapsed building rescue scenarios, requiring them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in basic rescue, first aid and firefighting.

Operating in sections under the leadership of their Platoon Commanders, they demonstrated resilience, teamwork, discipline and the professionalism expected of future SCDF rescuers.

Exercise COBUG marks a defining milestone in every recruit’s journey. More than a test of skills, it reflects the grit, determination and unwavering commitment they have developed throughout their training.

Having successfully completed this final exercise, they are now ready to join the fraternity of SCDF rescuers and embark on the next phase of their National Service journey through vocational training as Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, Frontline Operations Support and other vocational roles.

To the 180th BRT recruits—congratulations on reaching this milestone

As you move forward, never forget the fundamentals. The basic rescue skills you have learned are far more than training—they are the foundation of every successful rescue and the first stepping stone in your journey as a rescuer.

Master the basics, continue to sharpen them, and carry them with pride throughout your National Service.

[92nd Section Commander Course Graduation Parade]

On 2 Jul 2026, 48 Specialist Cadet Trainees from the 92nd Section Commander Course stood proudly before their families and loved ones at their Graduation Parade.

Gracing the event was Assistant Commissioner Dennis Quah, Commander 4th SCDF Division. In his address, AC Dennis commended the trainees for their resilience and commitment in completing the course and wished them all the best as they embark on their new roles as Section Commanders.

Gracing the event was Dr Wan Rizal, Deputy Chairperson for Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) (Home Affairs and Law) and Member of Parliament for Jalan Besar GRC. In his address, Dr Rizal commended the recruits for their effort and commitment in completing the BRT and wished them all the best as they embark on the next phase of their National Service journey.
