Glad to meet Adam and Hemi during my house visit. They have lived in the neighbourhood for four years and have four children, three in the US and one in Singapore. Despite the distance, the family makes it a point to gather once a year.

They also asked about my move from education to defence. Interestingly, I still meet many NSFs whom I first met during my time in education. Some had just completed their A-Levels then and they still recognise me today!

A fun-filled morning at the Buona Vista Family Sports Day! 🎳🏓

From giant bowling to balancing challenges, our young participants kept trying and gave every game their best. It was wonderful to see families cheering one another on and enjoying the activities together.

Glad to meet 90-year-old Mdm Yeo at 112 Jalan Bukit Merah Market and Food Centre today. 🥬❤️

For the past 60 years, she has dedicated herself to her vegetable stall. Today, her two daughters, son and son-in-law work alongside her to carry on the family business.

Mdm Yeo feels blessed to be well cared for by her children, and we are equally inspired to see her still healthy, strong and active at the stall.

Wishing Mdm Yeo continued good health and many more happy years with her family!

Safer and friendlier streets for everyone in Buona Vista. 🚶‍♀️🚦

The new Buona Vista Friendly Streets feature new and improved crossings, green road markings and road humps to encourage motorists to slow down.

These improvements will make everyday journeys safer and more convenient, especially for our seniors and families travelling to the market, eateries, community club and nearby MRT stations.

Let’s continue to look out for one another on the road.

Meet Ms Evelyn, a lifelong learner who reminds us that it is never too late to pursue what we love. 🎨

At 38, she decided to return to school to study art. She has now been painting for nearly 20 years. Her latest piece took three months to complete, and she finished it just this weekend!

Her journey shows that learning does not stop with age. With passion and patience, we can continue discovering new possibilities at every stage of life.

Spent the evening with residents from Tanjong Pagar GRC, Queenstown & Radin Mas SMCs at our annual National Day Dinner. In my address to residents, I spoke about three key challenges and opportunities before us - our security, economic livelihoods, and social cohesion.

In a more uncertain world, Singapore must keep building real capabilities, staying relevant, and remaining a trusted partner.

On the economic front, we must strengthen our resilience, diversify our supply chains and markets, and stay open to trade, talent and ideas.

And as a society, we must preserve the cohesion that remains a cornerstone of our success and continues to keep Singapore stable and united.

I also spoke about the progress of our Malay community, and how our seniors must continue to be cared for and supported to contribute. Their achievements remind us that our nation is strongest when every one can grow, excel, and play their part in our shared future.

I have confidence in our younger generation. Let us give them our full support to stand taller, see further, and take Singapore forward to SG100 and beyond. 🇸🇬

A special National Day catch-up with the Loo family at D’Leedon! 🇸🇬❤️

Five year old Alethea shared how much she enjoyed marching and singing the Water Parade song at the SAFRA Yishun army camp. She even brought home an SAF T-shirt for her three year old brother, Andrew, so they could wear matching tees together! 🫡

So lovely to see the siblings celebrating our Singapore spirit! 🇸🇬
