What an incredible 5 days of exploring, connecting and growth with our Polytechnic and ITE students at the Talent Explorer Programme (TEP)!🌟

Throughout the week, our participants explored different career pathways and gained valuable industry insights through corporate sharing and human library sessions. They also enjoyed learning through hands-on, play-based activities at our Essential Workplace Skills Activity Stations, while connecting with like-minded peers.

Over the past 2 days, our TEP POLITE participants were given the opportunity to connect with industry professionals through interactive corporate sharing sessions! 💭🔍

🚀 The Talent Explorer Programme for Polytechnic & ITE (TEP POLITE) has kicked off!

We are thrilled to welcome our new cohort of students as they embark on an exciting 5-day journey of self-discovery, learning and connection! 🌟

Our participants started the week by breaking the ice and getting to know one another during orientation. They also took part in the Design Your Career Workshop, followed by an Ask-Me-Anything session with two of our Talent Accelerator Programme (TAP) alumni, Jeremy Wee and Azimah Nur. It was heartwarming to see our alumni return, reconnect with the TomoWork community and share their experiences. 💡

We are eager to see our participants explore different career paths, learn firsthand from industry professionals and build lasting friendships over the next few days 💜

🚢 Marking a first TomoWork x Swire Shipping Work Immersion Programme

We're proud to celebrate the successful completion of our first Work Immersion Programme with Swire Shipping! 🌟

Unlike TomoWork's Talent Accelerator Programme (TAP) corporate projects, this Work Immersion Programme placed our participants directly within Swire Shipping's office for 8 weeks, working on a real project from start to finish.

It gave them first-hand work exposure while giving Swire Shipping the opportunity to work directly alongside persons with disabilities. This two-way experience built greater understanding and forged meaningful collaboration.

The initiative culminated in a final presentation attended by Swire Shipping's Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Sutton, Chief Operating Officer, Mark Celenk, and Chief People Officer, Celia Huang where our participants presented their work and shared what they had learned throughout the programme.

We're incredibly grateful to Capt. Surajdeep Singh, Head of Port and Regional Operations at Swire Shipping. Here's what he had to say about the programme:

"The Work Immersion Programme has been a truly rewarding initiative, bringing fresh energy, curiosity, and new perspectives into our workplace. It was inspiring to see the participants embrace the experience with such enthusiasm, ask thoughtful questions, and actively engage with the team."

A lovely evening of appreciation, connection and celebration. 🎉

Last night, our volunteers, donors, corporate partners and supporters came together for our inaugural Volunteer & Donor Appreciation Dinner at Temasek Shophouse, celebrating the people and partnerships that have shaped our journey.

We were honoured to welcome Special Guest Mr Xie Yao Quan, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Jurong Central SMC.

The session featured a keynote by Dr Cassandra Neo of the Singapore Psychological Society on “Empowering Gen Z at Work: Helping Different Minds Succeed in the Modern Workplace”.

We also heard from our corporate partner, Mr Gianpaolo Mettifogo, Vice President, Assembly and Test, Singapore, Micron Technology, who shared about the value of our partnership.

Our CEO, Ms Jenny Yang, reflected on the shared journey that has shaped TomoWork: “Each of you made a deliberate choice to walk this path with us. Whether through your time, your talent, your treasure or your ties – you built the TomoWork we see today.”

We also recognised our volunteers and donors across different tiers, celebrating the time, expertise, generosity and dedication they bring to TomoWork’s mission.

It was wonderful to see familiar faces reconnect, exchange ideas and come together over a specially curated evening together. Thank you for being part of the TomoWork community and for helping us create opportunities and advance inclusion for persons with disabilities. 🌟

As we approach five years of TomoWork, we are also grateful to connect with the wider Singapore–Japan community. In 2026, Singapore and Japan celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations, known as SJ60, and we are glad to be part of this year-long celebration of friendship, shared learning and collaboration towards a more inclusive society.

Last call: Applications for the Talent Uplift Collective (TUC) close on 4 September! 📢

Ready to build workplace skills, gain hands-on experience, and connect with mentors who can support your career journey?

TUC is a four-month experiential learning programme for undergraduates with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities. Through personalised mentorship, industry exposure and social impact projects, you'll gain practical experience, expand your network, and prepare for the transition into the workforce.

🌟 TomoWork was honoured to take part in the Steps of Hope Walkathon, the signature event of the RWS Cares Festival 2026, held in support of President’s Challenge 2026.

The walkathon was graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Guest of Honour, who officially flagged off the event. Winding through Universal Studios Singapore, WEAVE, the Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark, the 1.4km route brought thousands of participants together in a spirited show of unity and solidarity. We were proud to have TomoWork team members, programme participants and alumni join the walk.

We are grateful to Resorts World Sentosa for directing a portion of its fundraising through the President’s Challenge 2026 towards TomoWork’s Talent Accelerator Programme. 🌱 This will support our continued efforts to empower persons with disabilities and students requiring tailored assistance with in-demand skills, unlocking individual potential.

Our heartfelt thanks to Resorts World Sentosa, RWS Cares, and everyone who walked, cheered and showed their support. Together, we’re taking steps towards building a more inclusive Singapore. 🤝
