What happens to a playground when it’s retired? Sometimes, its parts get a second life as art. 🦧
When we heard the call for used materials for an art initiative raising awareness about protecting nature, we contributed recently retired playground equipment that would otherwise have been thrown away.
Parts of that equipment were used by Portuguese artist Bordalo II to create New Life, an orangutan mother-and-baby sculpture presented by Singlife at Gardens by the Bay.
It’s amazing to see familiar materials take on unexpected forms. That spirit of creativity and imagination connects with our philosophy, ‘The Art of Play’ - finding new possibilities in what’s around us.
We’re happy to have played a small part in giving old playground materials a new purpose, while helping to raise awareness of the need to protect nature.
