ith curated year-round exhibitions, cultivates the understanding of medium through its research-based projects, and supports the community with its photobook library, school education programmes, artist residency programmes, and analogue darkroom House of Photography (HOP). DECK’s photobook library consists of 3,823 donated publications and artist handmade books, of which 1,600 books were generously donated by Steidl Publishing in 2016.

We are grateful to have Joanna Fu () as a 2025/2026 Associate of DECK's Associate Creative Programme.

A researcher, writer, and curator based between Taipei and Shanghai, Joanna brings a deeply considered and cross-disciplinary lens to her practice. Her work moves fluidly between critical writing, curatorial thinking, and cultural inquiry, tracing the connections between image, memory, and place.

As part of her Associate Creative Programme, Joanna curated 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴: 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦-𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘛𝘢𝘪𝘸𝘢𝘯, an exhibition presented at Shop-House by DECK. Bringing together 21 artists working across photography, video, archives, and AI-generated imagery, the exhibition offered a rich and layered portrait of Taiwan's contemporary visual landscape and the many ways image-making shapes how we understand identity, history, and the world around us.

We are grateful for the care, curiosity, and generosity of vision that Joanna has brought to this collaboration. If you haven't yet had the chance to experience Subtropical Signals, we warmly invite you to visit Shop-House by DECK before the exhibition closes this week on the 26 July.
