Yesterday, I shared that the recommendations of the Taskforce on Assurance for Families with Persons with Disabilities – today, let me go into more detail on how we will strengthen support for persons with disabilities across life stages!

Over the past few months, I've had the privilege of sitting down with persons with disabilities and their families, and listening to them share their hopes and everyday realities.

Together with insights from partners such as SPED schools, employers and disability service agencies, these conversations have shaped the Taskforce’s report. It sets out how we can better journey with families as they plan ahead, grow in their work, and live well in the community.

This is one step towards a more caring Singapore, which we can all contribute to. I hope you’ll read the report, and share your thoughts with us.

When agencies see a child protection case differently, how is a decision made?

Every child protection case is unique, and protecting a child often requires multiple agencies to work together. Social workers gather information about a family's risks and needs, and with complex cases, differing views can arise. For Mdm Rina, a mother of three, every step forward was for her family, even if progress came gradually rather than in big leaps.

With support from Alson, her ComLink+ family coach from MSF, and the Empowered Families Initiative, Mdm Rina was connected to resources to launch her home-based curry puff business, giving her family supplementary income and a renewed sense of possibility.

And she's not stopping there. Today, we celebrate Mdm Rina as she takes her next step forward by furthering her studies to build an even brighter future for herself and her children 💙

A boxing class might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of youth rehabilitation.

But for MSF Probation Officer Aaron, it was a chance to better understand his probationer Christopher*, and the things that mattered to him.

That understanding is part of rehabilitation: helping youths recognise what influences their choices and supporting them as they work towards lasting change.

What goes on behind the scenes of a Marriage Support Group Meetup?
