Cloud technology leader Red Hat has opened its AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Singapore, and will work with the DSTA Defence Science and Technology Agency on initiatives related to engineering computing, automation and skills development.

As regional demand for trusted, enterprise-ready AI grows, Red Hat has chosen Singapore as its base to help organisations across Asia-Pacific.

At Red Hat’s AI CoE, engineers, forward-deployed engineers, architects and product managers work on making AI and machine learning deployments successful in customer environments. Red Hat will also upskill its customers and partners to strengthen their own specialised internal capabilities.

💊💉 A new Study Award in has just launched for students looking to pursue careers in biopharmaceutical manufacturing!

From manufacturing cancer treatments and vaccines to ensuring these medicines meet the highest quality standards, companies here continue to hire and develop across a range of roles from production to quality control and assurance.

To support more students in joining the field, the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Advisory Council (BMAC) has launched a S$4.8m Study Award – a first of its kind for the industry – that will benefit around 1,000 students from all five polytechnics and ITE over the next five years 🎓

After a six-month internship at company Workato, Corea Chua was offered a full-time role at the company’s AI Lab, which was launched last year to develop AI solutions that address real-world business challenges.

Today, Corea is an AI Lab Associate helping to translate customer needs into actual features and products like AI agents.

Over the past year, Workato’s AI Lab has been growing early-career AI and actively hiring engineers and researchers, offering them production-grade, customer-facing exposure.

“We believe in growing our AI team, not just purely hiring our way into a strong one. We made a deliberate decision to invest in engineers and researchers by providing them with real stakes from day one,” says Ee Shan Sim, Head of Workato's AI Lab Singapore.

To build an inclusive workforce, Workato will also welcome two persons with autism through a hiring with SG Enable and Autism Resource Centre Singapore / Pathlight School (Singapore). The new employees will take on roles involving data quality designed around their strengths.

company Anthropic has opened its office in , and is hiring across finance, marketing and sales roles!

Anthropic has also signed an MoU with the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) to partner AI safety, security, and assurance institutions on model evaluation, testing standards to help developers build safer models.

The company is already working with public and private sectors to enhance digital services and support Singapore’s cyber defense efforts. For example, over 1,500 engineers and technical staff at GovTech (Government Technology Agency of Singapore) are using Claude Code to modernise government systems.

Anthropic is also working with household names like DBS, Grab and Sea on software development, sales assistants and customer service chatbots and supporting SMEs with responsible AI adoption.

From a polytechnic student fascinated by scent to a Fragrance Development Manager creating fragrances for consumers across Asia — meet Geraldine Ng, one of the talented Singaporeans behind symriseag’s growing presence in Singapore 👃✨

Geraldine started off as a university intern at Symrise before joining the company through the SGUnited Traineeships Programme after graduation. She eventually landed a full-time role in fabric care fragrance development, where she works closely with perfumers to create fragrances that resonate with Asian consumers.

The German fragrance and flavour company has just opened its new Scent Creative Centre here to push the boundaries of fragrance innovation. The Centre features fragrance evaluation rooms that recreate everyday settings and a brand new Global Skin Cleansing Centre of Excellence which will deepen Symrise’s expertise in skin cleansing products.
