What does AI mean to the next generation? 🤖

For ITE College East students Si Hao, Yong Jie and Syahirah, AI is already changing how they learn and work. Si Hao once thought AI was mainly about coding but now sees how accessible and user-friendly it can be, while Syahirah is finding value in using AI to support her day-to-day work.

Initiatives such as Google and Ministry of Education, Singapore's AI Living Labs are giving Singaporean students across our Institutes of Higher Learning opportunities to explore these possibilities first-hand. By experimenting with AI tools and innovations, students are being equipped with the skill sets they need to capture new opportunities in an AI-enabled economy. The programme aims to reach 50,000 Singaporeans by 2027, with expansions planned to Nanyang Polytechnic and others.

What if can be used to transform your shopping experience? Klaviyo, a US-based consumer tech company, is helping brands do just that from its new Asia headquarters in Singapore!

The B2C customer relationship management platform helps brands responsibly harness customer data and AI to deliver more personalised experiences - and Singaporeans Elayne Soon and Germaine Tay are helping to drive its next phase of growth across Asia.

As Klaviyo’s Talent Acquisition Lead for Asia-Pacific (APAC), Elayne (4th pic) helps to build the teams behind the company’s regional growth. She has also tapped Klaviyo’s learning budget to upskill in AI through a SkillsFuture course and is now applying her new skills to her day-to-day work.

Germaine (5th pic), Klaviyo’s Head of Marketing for Asia, built her career in Meta and Shopify before joining Klaviyo. Today, she leads marketing across Southeast Asia, Japan and China, and is passionate about helping local brands digitise, reach new customers and grow through Klaviyo’s platform.

Global science and technology company Merck has expanded its BioReliance® Lab in Singapore to offer next-generation biologics testing services to biopharma companies across Asia Pacific — and Singaporean like Yang Ninghan are playing a key role in boosting Merck’s capabilities here.

Biologics testing is an important step in the drug development process, to ensure drug products are safe to be used by patients. As Strategic Programme Manager, Ninghan leads the rollout of Merck’s expanded regional testing capabilities, having started her career with Merck 8 years ago as a Biosafety Testing Scientist, and after completing specialised training in Scotland.

👋 Meet Naomi, James and Sriram – three of this year's Singapore-Industry Scholarship recipients from STMicroelectronics NV, DHL Supply Chain and 한화데이즈(Hanwha).

By providing students with industry exposure and learning opportunities, the SgIS aims to nurture the next generation of Singaporean for careers across our strategic industries and pharmaceuticals, electronics, , and supply chain management. The future of isn’t just about smarter technology – it’s about creating better opportunities for our businesses and workforce.

At the third annual Automation SolutionGO! X Regional Industry Networking Conference (RINC) 2026, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and AutomationSG launched Singapore's first industry-led framework for trusted industrial , enabling companies to adopt AI more safely and confidently.

The event also welcomed more than 600 students to SP’s inaugural STEM Awareness Seminar, where industry leaders shared how STEM skills can open doors to exciting careers in Singapore's growing advanced manufacturing sector.

Global surface treatment leader Chemetall, a brand of Surventis, is marking 50 years in , where it has its Asia Pacific .

Its Singapore facility houses critical functions like production, supply chain and financial operations, which enable Chemetall to deliver innovative surface treatment solutions to customers across the region.
