🎨✨ The Term 2 Art Club CCA Showcase @ The Nook is now on display! This vibrant termly exhibition celebrates the creativity, imagination, and voices of our young artists at Farrer Park Primary School. Visitors can explore a wonderful collection of artworks, including watercolour still life paintings, monoprints using found objects, Chinese New Year-inspired paintings, glass painting with nature themes, monochromatic still life artworks, 3D paper line sculptures inspired by family, and personalised mini museum models showcasing students’ own curated artworks. A special highlight was the inspiring Art Sharing by our Primary 6 Farrereans, who reflected on their artistic journeys and growth through their years in Art Club. We wish our graduating artists all the very best as they take their next steps and continue to create with confidence and passion. During all three recesses, students also enjoyed taking part in exciting grid drawing challenges, trying their hand at observation and drawing skills. If you have not visited the showcase yet, do drop by The Nook and celebrate the talents of our young artists. The exhibition will continue into Term 3, so there is still plenty of time to be inspired by the creativity of our Farrereans! 🎨🌟 YoungArtists

🌊 Bringing Learning to Life at the Oceanarium! 🐚🐠

Our P2 Farrereans recently went on an exciting learning journey to the Sentosa Oceanarium, where their classroom lessons truly came to life! This experiential trip was the perfect extension of their STELLAR book, "Life in a Shell," allowing our young explorers to see the marine world they read about right before their very eyes.

Stepping beyond the classroom walls, P2 Farrereans put their observation skills to the test by differentiating between living and non-living things based on their unique characteristics, and actively worked together to categorize the diverse sea creatures into their correct animal groups. They also learned about the fascinating ecological relationships between different marine animals and how they depend on one another to survive in their ocean habitats.

Well done to our curious Farrereans for making waves with their learning and showing such wonderful inquiry mindsets! 🐙💙

🥬 P3 Green Fingers: Farming the Future! 🌱

P3 Farrereans stepped into the shoes of urban farmers recently! As part of their Science curriculum, P3 Farrereans got hands-on experience growing their very own vegetables through hydroponics. This gave them a front-row seat to witness the fascinating life cycle of plants firsthand, from seed to harvest.

This green initiative beautifully links to our school's Applied Learning Programme (ALP) on sustainability. Through this soil-free farming method, our young Farrereans discovered how hydroponics serves as a powerful solution to protect the environment. They learned that by saving space, conserving precious water resources, and reducing pollution, urban farming helps build a much greener future.

Kudos to our P3s for nurturing both their crops and their eco-consciousness! We can’t wait to see how they continue to grow as responsible stewards of our planet. 🌍✨

Lessons came alive for our P2 Farrereans as they had the wonderful opportunity to rear caterpillars and witness their transformation into beautiful butterflies! 🐛🦋 As part of our ALP programme, pupils connected what they have read in English with their learning on the life cycle of a butterfly through real-life observation. While releasing their butterflies, P2 Farrereans discovered that butterflies are often attracted to brighter flowers! 🌸

Through this meaningful hands-on journey, P2 Farrereans deepened their understanding of nature while demonstrating the values of care, curiosity and empathy (:

International Friendship Day 2026: Celebrating friendship, kindness, and unity in diversity 🌟

On 15 April, Farrereans explored what it truly means to forge friendships in a complex world.

Laughter echoed throughout the school during recess as Farrereans tried out games traditional Southeast and East Asian recreational activities like cane ball, pick-up sticks, aeroplane chess, and shuttlecock. At the same time, Farrereans had the chance to expressed their gratitude to friends by writing heartfelt messages to them. They also learnt how to write the word "friends" in different languages 🌏

It was a day of laughter, learning and strengthening of friendships through games and crafts. 💛

🎨 P4 Museum-Based Learning @ National Gallery Singapore 🏛️✨

Our P4 Farrereans had an enriching and eye-opening Museum-Based Learning experience at the National Gallery Singapore, exploring the theme “Portraits: Selfies of the Past”!

During the visit, Farrereans took a closer look at two local artworks in detail, learning how artists use portraits to tell stories, express identity, and capture emotions—just like how we take selfies today, but in the past! 📸🖼️

Beyond the artworks, Farrereans also had the exciting opportunity to tour the magnificent building itself, which was once the former Supreme Court and City Hall, now beautifully transformed into one of Singapore’s most iconic art galleries.

One of the highlights was visiting the original jail cells located in the former Supreme Court wing—an unforgettable experience that brought history to life and helped Farrereans appreciate the building’s rich heritage. 🔒📚

To make the learning even more engaging, Farrereans also participated in a treasure hunt, discovering other key artworks that they will revisit and study throughout their six years of art education. 🗺️🔍🎨

It was truly an informative, meaningful, and interesting learning journey, filled with discovery, curiosity, and inspiration! 🌟👏

Singapore World Water Day 2026 💧

From designing their own posters to colouring Water Wally, Farrereans commemorated Singapore World Water Day 2026 on Wednesday, 1 April. Through these activities, they learnt about the water challenges faced by Singapore and how each of us can play a part in conserving water.

They also put their knowledge to the test by completing a quiz, reinforcing what they had learnt in a fun and engaging way.

Just as they strive to make every day count, Farrereans pledge to make every drop count. 💙
