Looking for BigBang World Tour tickets? Watch out for scammers!🎫 😦

Ticket sales kicked off today (11 Aug), with virtual queue numbers surging past 300,000.

Remember:

✅ Only buy from authorised platforms like Ticketmaster.

✅ Those with resold tickets will not be allowed into the venue and will be turned away from the concert with no refund.

Watch out for GST Voucher (GSTV) scams

Scammers have been exploiting GSTV payouts as bait to trick victims.

In this variant, scammers impersonate government officials and send phishing messages containing malicious links, claiming that victims are eligible for GSTV payouts.

Victims are prompted to enter their personal details. Scammers then use the compromised information to take over their Telegram accounts, which are subsequently used to send phishing links to their contacts or add them to fake investment scheme groups.

⚠️Remember

Eligible citizens who have previously signed up for the GSTV scheme will automatically receive the payments.

Protect yourself:

✅ All government SMSes are sent from the gov.sg sender ID.

❌ Do not reply, click any links, or provide personal details to unverified sender.

🚨️“Microsoft” Pop-Up Alert? Do not panic!

Scammers used fake Microsoft pop-up alerts to trick victims into calling a "technical support" number.

After calling the number, victims were transferred to a fake "police officer" who allege them of being involved in criminal activities and request for access to their device(s).

Having gained access, scammers would make unauthorised transactions from victims' bank accounts.

Protect yourself:

❌ Never call numbers shown in a pop-up alert.

✅ Always verify alerts through your software provider’s official channels.

⚠️ Remember: Microsoft does NOT include phone numbers in its error messages.

Heads up, drivers!

Changes to the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) take effect from 1 Jan 2027.

Know the new rules, stay safe on the roads.

𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗗𝗜𝗣𝗦)

To enhance road safety, the Singapore Police Force will be tightening the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) to better deter traffic violations and keep errant motorists off our roads for longer periods, effective 1 January 2027.

Key changes include:
• Lower thresholds for licence suspension and revocation
• Longer suspension periods for each suspension
• Changes to educational interventions for errant motorists

These changes reinforce the importance of responsible driving and encourage all motorists to play their part in making our roads safer for everyone.

Eight men, aged 36 - 70, were charged in court on 29 July 2026 for separate cases of outrage of modesty and uttering words and exhibiting an object intended to insult the modesty of any person at various locations across Singapore, including Marina Boulevard, Farrer Park Station Road, Raffles Place and Jalan Sultan.

The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments. The offence of uttering words or making gestures intended to insult modesty of any person under Section 377BA of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to one year, a fine, or both.

The Police reiterate a zero-tolerance stance and urge the public to report any molestation incidents promptly, noting that swift reporting helps identify perpetrators and protect the community.

Eight men, aged between 36 and 70, will be charged in court on 29 July 2026 for their suspected involvement in separate cases of outrage of modesty, or molestation.
