In commemoration of Racial Harmony Day, our school hall came alive with an electrifying beatboxing performance by professional beatboxer Charles Stitch Wong. ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ”ฅ His amazing showcase had everyone clapping, cheering, and feeling the rhythm! ๐ŸŽถ To make the experience even more memorable, several students sportingly volunteered to learn and perform alongside him, creating moments of laughter and fun. โœจ๐Ÿ™Œ

Similar to how Singapore's multicultural society comprises many unique cultures, traditions and voices, beatboxing brings together rhythms and sounds from around the world to create something truly inspiring. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽต It reminds us that while each of us is unique, we are strongest when we come together in harmony. ๐Ÿคโค๏ธ

Let us continue to appreciate one another's cultures, build meaningful friendships, and create a school community where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. Together, we don't just celebrate our differencesโ€”we embrace them as our greatest strength. โค๏ธโœจ

On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming 41 students and 5 staff from Jiangnan Middle School for a meaningful day of cultural exchange, with 32 of our students taking part as buddies๐Ÿค. Their visit marked the second part of the exchange programme, following our studentsโ€™ trip to Wuxi, China, in March. It was a warm reunion that allowed friendships forged earlier in the year to grow even stronger ๐Ÿคฉ.

The day began with a Racial Harmony day assembly programme celebrating Singaporeโ€™s rich multicultural heritage. Our student hosts then guided their buddies on a school tour and introduced them to local culture through a floorball experience๐Ÿ‘, a Malay music workshop ๐ŸŽผ, and a visit to the ArtScience Museum๐Ÿ›๏ธ. The day ended with dinner hosted by our students, bringing a memorable day of connection and shared learning to a close. We hope to deepen this valued partnership in the years ahead.๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŽŠ

Guided by the belief that learning and growth starts from within and through shared experiences๐ŸŒฑ, our BMSS Staff Learning Day brought colleagues together to learn, connect and recharge before the June break. ๐Ÿชซ๐Ÿ”‹๐Ÿ˜Š

The day began with a Human Library Sharing ๐Ÿ’ฌ, where authentic stories and diverse perspectives sparked reflection and encouraged growth from within. ๐Ÿ“ˆ ๐Ÿ’— Staff then explored a range of concurrent workshops on creativity, teamwork, wellness and hands-on learning. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿคโ˜•๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ

๐ŸŒโœจ Thatโ€™s a wrap on the 2nd Annual Bukit Merah Model United Nations (BMMUN 2026)!

More than forty passionate student delegates came together to tackle one of the world's most complex geopolitical challenges: the US-Iran conflict. Through rigorous debate, strategic negotiation and thoughtful collaboration, these young leaders navigated differing perspectives and successfully drafted a comprehensive resolution aimed at promoting peace and stability. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿค

Beyond the final accord, BMMUN 2026 provided valuable opportunities for students to sharpen their critical and analytical thinking, particularly when responding to questions and challenges raised at the Chairโ€™s discretion. Delegates also strengthened their diplomatic communication skills through dynamic discussions and negotiations during unmoderated caucuses. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธโœจ

Congratulations to all our delegates for demonstrating confidence, resilience and the true spirit of global citizenship. ๐Ÿ‘

Our Secondary 3 students had an enriching time exploring skills-based professions through this year's Applied Learning Modules! Across the four exciting modules of Automotive Engineering ๐Ÿ›ž, AI Filmmaking ๐ŸŽฅ, Culinary and Mocktail ๐Ÿ๐Ÿน, and Sports and Wellness ๐ŸฅŽ, the students dived into hands-on experiences that broadened their horizons and sparked new interests. ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜Š

As part of the programme, students also embarked on learning journeys to witness how the skills were applied in the real world.๐Ÿค” For many students, these visits were a true eye-opener ๐Ÿ˜ณ, bringing their classroom experiences to life in a meaningful and authentic way. ๐Ÿ‘

The highlight of the programme was the students' showcase, where they presented their own films, served a delightful spread of dishes and mocktails for teachers, demonstrated teamwork in automotive presentations, and designed sports activities that tested agility and cognitive skills.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™Œ

Beyond the fun, these experiences supported the students' holistic development, nurturing critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world of work and their role in society.๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done to all our Secondary 3s for your enthusiastic participation and creativity! ๐Ÿ‘

During Mother Tongue Fortnight, our students experienced the beauty and richness of language and culture through a series of engaging and meaningful activities ๐ŸŒธโœจ

Our upper secondary Tamil Language students participated in a short film-making workshop ๐ŸŽฌ where they explored values from the Thirukkural through creative storytelling. Working in groups, they scripted, directed and produced their own short films, deepening their appreciation for Tamil culture and its timeless relevance in todayโ€™s society ๐Ÿคฉ

Meanwhile, our lower secondary Tamil Language students explored the vibrant Madhubani art form ๐ŸŽจ, learning about its unique patterns, colours and cultural significance while creating their own artwork inspired by Indian traditions, nature and mythology ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Over the same period, our Malay Language students also took part in enriching experiences that brought the Malay language to life ๐Ÿฅณ. Secondary One students bonded through traditional games such as chapteh, five stones and marbles ๐Ÿคน๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ, while Secondary Two students explored Malay herbs and spices in a hands-on workshop, creating natural insect repellents using lime, cloves and lemongrass ๐Ÿชด

Secondary Three students showcased their creativity in a translation challenge, including translating the school song into Malay ๐ŸŽผ, while Secondary Four students gained insights into the relevance of the language today through an inspiring sharing by deejays from Ria 89.7FM ๐Ÿ’ฟ

Through these experiences, students developed a deeper appreciation of language, culture and heritage, while learning through creativity, collaboration and connection ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

On 12 May 2026, BMSS celebrated a historic milestone with our very first Student Leaders Investiture ๐ŸŒŸ This meaningful occasion brought together our student leaders from the Student Council and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) under one united banner, symbolising the passing on of leadership, responsibility and commitment ๐Ÿค

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our outgoing Secondary Four CCA and Student Council leaders for their unwavering dedication, service and the strong legacy they leave behind ๐Ÿ™ At the same time, we were proud to officially invest our incoming Secondary Three CCA leaders, alongside our Secondary Two and Three Student Councillors, as they stepped forward with confidence and determination to serve the school community โœจ

As role models and leaders, these Merahans have committed themselves to serving with integrity, responsibility and heart ๐Ÿ’™ We wish them all the best as they begin this new chapter of leadership and continue to inspire those around them ๐Ÿš€
