πŸ‘…πŸ©Έ Got your tongue?
If you or your kid takes a bad hit to the mouth, don't panic. Just follow these 3 immediate rules to get it under control:
1️⃣ Spit, don't swallow: It sounds obvious, but swallowing blood can irritate your stomach lining. Before you know it, you might be dealing with nausea and vomiting on top of the cut. 🀒
2️⃣ Apply direct pressure: Fold a clean piece of gauze or a small cloth, place it over the wound, and pinch or press down firmly. 🩹
3️⃣ Switch to nose breathing: Trying to breathe through your mouth when it's full of blood and gauze isn't very efficient, and can lead to choking. Close your lips and take deep breaths through your nose. 😀
When to see a doctor: Mouth cuts heal fast, but if the wound is deep enough or makes it hard to eat and drink normally, you might need a doctor to look at it (and potentially place a few dissolvable stitches). 🩺

🚨 What do you do when a limb or finger is left dangling by a thread? It’s gruesome, but pulling it off is the worst mistake you could make. Modern surgery can do incredible things to save a partially amputated limb if you protect what's left.
If you ever encounter a partial amputation, remember these 3 reasons to leave it alone:
1️⃣ Blood vessels are still working: That small bridge of skin or tissue might look useless, but it often contains intact blood vessels that are still keeping the rest of the limb alive. 🩺
2️⃣ Nerves are still connected: Ripping the tissue away can permanently damage deep nerves, ruining any future chance of the casualty regaining movement or feeling (paralysis). 🧠
3️⃣ You'll open the floodgates: Ripping off a partially attached body part tears open deeper tissues, which can trigger uncontrollable, unwanted arterial bleeding. πŸ›‘
The right move: Gently align the limb back into its natural position, apply a firm bandage to stop the bleeding, and support it with a makeshift splint. Less movement means less blood loss.

🚫 Don’t flush it down the toilet! 🚽 Just kidding... but if someone around you loses a finger, do you actually know how to keep it alive for the doctors? 🩺
Keeping an amputated part cool slows down tissue death, but you have to do it right:
1️⃣ Wrap it: Cover the severed part in clean, sterile gauze. 🩹
2️⃣ Bag it: Place it inside a clean plastic zip-lock bag. 🀐
3️⃣ Cool it: Place that sealed bag inside another bag filled with ice. ❄️
⚠️ WARNING: Never place the amputated part directly on ice or in water! This will freeze and destroy the delicate tissue, making surgical reattachment impossible. ❌ The goal is to chill the finger, not freeze it!

🚨 Amputations are high-stress emergencies, but knowing what to do can prevent it, or save a finger or limb. Here are 3 essential facts you need to know:
πŸ’₯ It’s not just from blades: Severe blunt force or heavy impacts can cause amputations too.
🩸 Expect heavy bleeding: Completely severed blood vessels require immediate, firm direct pressure.
πŸ₯ Reattachment is possible: Modern medicine can reattach the body part, if the severed part is properly preserved and brought to the ER in time.
The golden rule: Whatever you do, don't leave the missing part behind! πŸš‘πŸ’¨ Stay tuned for how to care for amputations in our next video. Follow Yo R for more first aid tips! πŸ’™

🚨 Something the movies actually got right! If severe bleeding on an arm or leg just won't stop, a tourniquet is the last resort life-saver. 🩸
If you don't have a professional medical kit, here is how to improvise one fast:
1️⃣ Tie: Wrap a long cloth 5cm above the wound and tie a secure knot.
2️⃣ Tighten: Slot a sturdy stick into the knot, then twist it like a wrench until the bleeding completely stops (It will take some effort!).
3️⃣ Lock: Secure the pen in place so it doesn't unwind, and write the time of application on the cloth.
Keep the tourniquet on and rush them straight to the hospital. πŸš‘πŸ’¨ Do not loosen it!

🚨 DO NOT treat this like a normal injury! Miss this one medical detail and a casualty could bleed out in minutes.
If someone gets hurt and tells you they have Haemophilia, your standard first-aid playbook goes out the window:
πŸ’‘ The Big Myth: They don’t actually bleed faster, they bleed for LONGER. Because their blood cannot clot properly, the bleeding just won't stop on its own.
πŸ’₯ A hard hit or sudden fall can cause dangerous internal bleeding that stays invisible.
What you need to do: Skip the basic bandages now. Grab them and rush straight to the hospital immediately. πŸš‘πŸ’¨ They need specialized medical treatment to save their life.

πŸ”¨ Handling blood can put you at a high risk of cross-contamination! Protect yourself with these 3 rules:
1️⃣ Wear gloves: Make sure they fit perfectly and have no breaks or tears.
2️⃣ Avoid direct contact: Use a thick pad or gauze over the wound to keep a clean barrier between you and the blood.
3️⃣ Scrub like a surgeon: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap right after, even if you wore gloves!
Safety first! Keep a first aid kit and gloves handy with you at all times. Follow Yo R for first aid tips that work! πŸ’™

🩸 Internal bleeding is a silent killer because you can't see it happening. Basic first aid won't fix this! You need to spot the hidden signs and act fast.
Look out for these 3 critical warning signs:
1️⃣ Swelling & Hardness: Pooling blood can cause a hard, swollen, or distended abdomen.
2️⃣ Cold & Clammy Skin: The body pulls blood away from the skin to protect critical organs, leaving the person pale, cold, and sweaty.
3️⃣ Blood In "Exit Doors": Coughing up, vomiting, or passing blood in stool/urine are massive red flags.
If you suspect internal bleeding, call 995 immediately. Please share this post to help someone spot the hidden danger! πŸ’™

πŸ›‘ Stop treating nosebleeds the old way! These common habits can actually make things worse. Here is how to fix them:
1️⃣ Don't tilt back: Blood running down your throat can cause choking or vomiting as it irritates your stomach. Lean forward instead.
2️⃣ Don't pinch the bone: Pressing the hard bridge does nothing. Pinch the soft part of your nose just below it.
3️⃣ Don't stuff it: Shoving tissues up your nose disrupts natural clotting. Just let it run, and wipe the excess blood away.
Follow Yo R for first aid tips that actually work! πŸ’™

🚨 If someone is on blood thinners, a minor cut can potentially become an emergency. These medications prevent normal clotting, making any bleeding wound significantly harder to control.
Here is why you need to act fast:
1️⃣ High Risk: Small scrapes can bleed heavily, and large wounds can quickly become fatal.
2️⃣ Delayed Clotting: The body takes a much longer time to form a natural seal over the injury.
3️⃣ Massive Volume Loss: They lose blood much faster, which can cause the body to spiral into a critical state.

Call for an ambulance immediately and keep applying firm pressure. If they start to feel dizzy, lay them flat on their back and lift their legs above heart level.
