📢 Receiving your medical fitness status under the refreshed Medical Classification System (MCS)? Instead of a PES status, here's what you'll see:

1️⃣ 🩺 Whether You Are Medically Fit for Service
2️⃣ 📋 Your Medical Exemptions (if any)
3️⃣ ⏱️ Your Eligibility for an 8-week Reduction in Full-Time NS Duration

The refreshed MCS provides a more precise assessment of your medical fitness, so that you can contribute more meaningfully during NS. Safety will remain a key priority for all training in the SAF and Home Team.

Congrats to the 101 recipients of this year’s defence scholarships! 🥳

The recipients received scholarship awards across eight categories offered by MINDEF, including the SAF Scholarship, Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholarship (Engineering) – Defence and Security, the SAF Merit Scholarship, the SAF Engineering Scholarship, the Defence Merit Scholarship, the SAF Medicine Scholarship, the SAF Dentistry Scholarship and the DSTA Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) Scholarship.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Temasek Club, Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing expressed his hope that the recipients will remain grounded in values and lead with collective purpose. “Leadership is not just about strategy and technology; it is, ultimately, about people. The men and women you work with… they are the heart of our defence. Our role is to imbue them with the commitment and the will to stand our ground, so that we will always answer the call of duty even in the toughest of times.”

These recipients have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding leadership qualities and will be pursuing their undergraduate studies at reputable local and overseas universities. Upon their return, they will assume a variety of challenging appointments that will groom them for senior command and leadership positions in MINDEF and the SAF.
