An inspiring week exploring Singapore’s vibrant space ecosystem 🚀 with Václav Kobera, Director of the Department of New Technologies and Space Agency at the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade (Ministerstvo průmyslu a obchodu) 🇨🇿

At the National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS), we had the pleasure of meeting Chief Executive Ngiam Le Na and her team to discuss opportunities for future Czech-Singapore cooperation in the space sector. 🔭

We also gained valuable insights into Singapore’s space research landscape 🛰️ during meetings with A*STAR, led by Senior Director Tan Chee Seng, as well as visits to the Satellite Technology and Research (STAR) Centre at National University of SG with Prof. Abhishek Rai, and the Satellite Research Centre (SaRC) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with Prof. Lim Wee Seng.

Learning from those shaping Singapore’s future in space also meant exploring the country’s dynamic space business environment through visits to ST Engineering, Addvalue Technologies, Transcelestial and the Singapore Space & Technology Think Tank Space Lab. These exchanges highlighted the potential for cooperation between Czech and Singaporean space companies. 🇨🇿🤝🇸🇬

We were delighted to welcome the Czech Children’s Choir Campanella (ZUŠ Campanella) from Olomouc to Singapore. 🇨🇿🇸🇬 And what a success their visit has been, bringing home two gold medals from the Singapore International Choral Festival 2026! 🏆 Congratulations! 👏

The choir also enchanted the audience at Punggol Regional Library during a concert organised by the Embassy. The beautiful programme, featuring both Czech and international songs, brought a piece of Czech musical heritage to Singapore and delighted visitors of all ages. 🎶

During the intermission, library visitors had the opportunity to discover a selection of Czech children’s books and vote for their favourite title. 📚 These books will now be available to borrow and explore as part of the Punggol Regional Library collection.

Before returning home, members of Campanella also visited Christ Church Secondary School, where they performed several songs, connected with their Singaporean peers, and gained first-hand insight into Singapore’s school environment. 🎵🤝🏫

Our sincere thanks go to Campanella for their wonderful performances, Punggol Regional Library for hosting the concert, Christ Church Secondary School for warmly welcoming the choir, and everyone who joined us and helped create such a memorable atmosphere. ✨

Congratulations to Spain on becoming FIFA World Cup champions! 🏆🇪🇸

While Czechia’s World Cup journey ended earlier than we had hoped, this tournament was still a historic achievement for our team: the first World Cup qualification in twenty years. 🇨🇿

Ambassador Dana Baschová, together with the Czech community in Singapore, enthusiastically supported our team throughout the tournament. ⚽️🎉 The World Cup created a wonderful opportunity for embassies and communities from around the world to come together and cheer for their national teams.

Watching the Czechia-Mexico match together with the Ambassador of Mexico and members of the Mexican community showed that football creates friendships and connections that go well beyond the final score. 🇲🇽🤝🇨🇿

Today, we mark the 81st anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, one of the most tragic conflicts in human history. With deep respect, we honour all those who sacrificed their lives in the fight for freedom and democracy. Victory Day serves as a lasting reminder that peace and freedom are not a given, but are values that must be both protected and defended.

Dnes si připomínáme 81 let od ukončení druhé světové války v Evropě, jednoho z nejtragičtějších konfliktů v dějinách lidstva. S hlubokou úctou vzpomínáme na všechny, kteří nasadili své životy v boji za svobodu a demokracii. Den vítězství nám trvale připomíná, že mír a svoboda nejsou samozřejmostí, ale hodnotami, které je nutné nejenom chránit, ale za které je třeba také bojovat.

It was a great pleasure to organise an online seminar introducing the Czech meat and meat product companies (Animalco, , RS maso and .cz) to seven of their Singaporean counterparts. 🥓🥩 Our Embassy is keen to support Czech companies efforts to enter the Singapore’s market. 🇸🇬

The webinar was officially opened by the Ambassador Dana Baschová, Director Stanislav Němec from the Czech Ministry of Agriculture (), Kenny Toh, the President of the Meat Traders’ Association in Singapore and Radek Slanec the Director of the Czech Meat Processors Association. 🤝

Thanks to all partners, associations and companies involved for making this event possible. 🙏 We look forward to seeing more Czech products on Singaporean shelves soon. 🛒🛍️
