🏆 A Historic First for Team Singapore at the Army Ten-Miler!
Our Army’s Team Singapore made history, clinching first place in the All Comers Category at the 42nd Army Ten-Miler on 11 October 2026 in Washington, D.C., USA!
Our eight runners were Second Warrant Officer (2WO) Malcom Goh, Captain (CPT) Lucas Lim Wei Xin, CPT Sean Khong Jun Cheng, Third Warrant Officer (3WO) Foo Chek Jun, 3WO Syed Danial bin Syed Faisal Alhinduan, CPT Wilsvin Leong, 3WO Lim Kai Feng Lawrence and Staff Sergeant (SSG) Loh Sin Yi, led by Team Manager and Coach 3WO Justin Lim Tze Kheng.
After two months and over 600km of training, the team braved heavy rain, cold weather and slippery roads to clock a combined 4:04:42, improving on last year’s 4:05:50 to claim their first title!
The team’s fastest runner, 2WO Malcom Goh, finished in 58:32. Reflecting on the experience, he shared:
“I can only say it was an experience running in the rain and I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent the organisation.”
For 3WO Justin Lim, who competed in 2025, the win was especially meaningful:
“I am extremely proud of what the team has achieved, not only in improving their individual timings and overall team performance, but also in securing the championship for the first time.”
Other milestones included CPT Lucas Lim’s unofficial 10km personal best (PB) of 37:13, CPT Wilsvin Leong improving his 10km timing by 6 minutes and 6 seconds, and 3WO Syed Danial achieving multiple PBs after ACL surgery on both knees.
SSG Loh Sin Yi, who missed selection last year, reflected:
“Sometimes, all it takes is someone telling you to try, even when you doubt yourself. I’m really glad I gave myself another chance.”
As CPT Sean Khong reflected, first place was a fitting reward for the team’s hard work. Their journey was defined by resilience, determination and camaraderie.
