Catholic Education Sunday
Over the weekend, the Archdiocese celebrated Catholic Education Sunday (CES), which takes place on the weekend closest to the feast day of St Joseph Calasanz, the patron saint of Catholic schools.
Our Anthonians stepped forward to serve at the Church of St Francis of Assisi and the Church of St Mary of the Angels. They played an active part in the celebrations as members of the hospitality team, lectors and choir. It was heartening to see our Anthonians participate meaningfully in the Mass and serve alongside parish members.
At the heart of Catholic Education is the desire to nurture young people not only in their learning, but also in their values and willingness to serve others. These experiences allow our students to live out our Lasallian values of Faith, Service and Community, growing as young people who use their gifts to make a positive difference in the lives of others. We are grateful to our Anthonians for sharing their time, talents and gifts, and to our parents for their encouragement and support in helping their children step forward and give back to those around them.
