Australia is helping to build the resilient supply chains of the future.

At the Tribeca Future Facing Symposium in Singapore, High Commissioner Mudie highlighted Australia’s role as a stable and reliable partner for investment in Critical Minerals (https://international.austrade.gov.au/en/do-business-with-australia/sectors/energy-and-resources/critical-minerals/prospectus), clean energy and advanced manufacturing.

Bringing together industry leaders and investors, the event reinforced the value of trusted partnerships, transparent regulation, and long-term investment in supporting economic resilience and sustainable growth.

It’s International Dog Day and it’s time to Tuppence up!

Meet the (unofficial) Australian High Pupmissioner to Singapore, Tuppence, who has had a paw-sitive experience with walks, barks and parks throughout Lion City so far.

Her pawsonal favourite? Without a bark has to be Changi Beach Park but she also doesn’t mind an afternoon sunbathe in the garden too.

How are you celebrating this pawsome day?

As one of the world's most important waterways, the Straits of Malacca and Singapore (SOMS) underpins regional prosperity, global trade, and energy security.

As a maritime trading nation, Australia has a strong interest in the continued safety and openness of the SOMS.

Today, Counsellor Jo McIntosh delivered Australia’s General Statement at the 17th Cooperation Forum of the Cooperative Mechanism on the Safety of Navigation and Environmental Protection in the SOMS. Australia remains committed to working with partners to strengthen navigational safety, environmental protection, and adherence to international law, particularly UNCLOS.

Australia and Singapore will be going head-to-head in the Group Stages of the 2026/27 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Two!

Adelaide United and Lion City Sailors have recently been drawn together in Group F of the league and will play against each other, along with two other opponents, across six matches between September and December.

The top two sides in the group will progress to the Round of 16.

The Sailors share an Adelaide connection through Aurelio Vidmar, who coached the Singaporean side before later taking charge of BG Pathum United.

Excited to cheer on both Adelaide and Singapore’s teams for the coming matches!

The Singapore Vandas are heading to Sydney for the 2027 Netball World Cup!

The national team secured their spot after winning the 14th Asian Netball Championships over the weekend – their second Asian title in two years. Go Vandas!

Australia and Singapore are great mates, on and off the netball court. In fact, in 2025, Netball Singapore appointed Australian Tara Steel as the national Head Coach and Technical Director. And in 2026, Vandas Captain Toh Kai Wei hit the court in Australia, playing Premier League with the South Coast Blaze.

We hope Toh Kai Wei and all her Vandas teammates feel the Aussie love when they grace the Netball World Cup courts in Sydney in 2027!

Further strengthening cooperation in trade, investment and energy transition.

Australia and Singapore share a strong and enduring partnership, underpinned by deep economic links, people-to-people connections, and a shared commitment to an open and prosperous region.

High Commissioner Mudie met with Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong to further discuss such opportunities and looks forward to working together to deliver the next chapter of the Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Energy security and energy transition are important areas of cooperation between Australia and Singapore.

Sembcorp’s recent acquisition of Australia’s Alinta Energy is a significant addition to our strong economic relationship, bringing together Sembcorp’s global energy capabilities, Alinta’s energy expertise and a pipeline of renewable and firming projects in Australia.

High Commissioner Mudie had the pleasure of meeting Sembcorp Industries Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wong Kim Yin, President & CEO, Renewables East, Alex Tan, Chief Legal Officer, Lynette Lim and Alinta Energy, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability & Governance, Sarah McNamara to discuss these recent developments.

Thanks to Austrade for its continued work supporting the growing energy and investment links between Australia and Singapore.

Singaporean artist, Low Kee Hong, is set to direct the 2028 Biennale of Sydney!

Low is best described by NSW Arts Minister John Grahm as someone who has “made a career out of curating fun and joyous creative programes that bring people together, activate unexpected spaces and transform cities from Singapore to Hong Kong to Manchester – and next, Sydney”.

With a master’s in sociology and a background in dance and theatre, Low wants the next Biennale to feature more activations ,performance art and work that can speak to politics while insisting on the capacity for beauty and joy.

Any Singaporeans planning a visit to Sydney in 2028?
