We are excited to welcome our two new interns, Fiona Susana Andom and Marie Flaatten, to the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore!
Fiona recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Universidad Europea de Valencia, including an exchange semester at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has completed internships with Fellesrådet for Afrika and American Spaces Valencia and has a strong interest in cybersecurity, maritime security, ASEAN affairs, and geopolitics. Fiona is excited to be in Singapore, where she looks forward to deepening her understanding of the region’s political landscape while contributing to business and cultural promotion initiatives. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new cities and cultures and is always on the lookout for great dumplings.
Marie is currently pursuing a Master`s degree in Innovation, Society and Sustainable Development at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. Marie has a special interest in circular economy, innovation and green transitions in the maritime sector, which makes Singapore a pleasant place to be for this fall. She is excited to be a part of the Embassy’s work, to analyze global politics and gain a deeper understanding of maritime operations, green transition policies, and domestic affairs. Marie enjoys travelling, discovering new countries and places, and getting to know new cultures and traditions. She has been on exchange periods in Canada, Australia and Indonesia. Marie is also thrilled to be in a place where she can have Banh Mi, summer rolls and ñ of other delicious Asian foods on a regular basis.
They are both excited to learn more about the culture, the Norwegian and Singaporean collaboration and maybe a couple of Singlish phrases along the way!
👋 We wish them both a warm welcome and look forward to having them on our team!
