Moving from discussion to action in healthcare transformation
Healthcare systems are under increasing pressure, from rising demand to workforce constraints and growing complexity of care.
Last week, we hosted Prof Eyal Zimlichman, MD, Prof Gregory KATZ and Prof Sally Lewis for an executive workshop on AI, outcomes, patient experience and system value.
Over the one and a half days, the discussions focused on the areas that matter most - how care is delivered, how decisions are made, and what needs to change as we move forward.
Here's what stood out:
🔹 Use AI and data more deliberately in everyday clinical decisions
🔹Make outcomes more visible to drive improvement
🔹 Sustainable transformation rests on four pillars: transparency, clinical leadership, incentives, and stewardship.
🔹 Look at value across the full patient journey, beyond the hospital
The feedback:
NUH is already operating at a high level. Yet, in this environment, that is not enough on its own.
The work now is to simplify how we operate, redesign pathways and use data more deliberately.
This will require choices and pace.
Thanks to Prof Zimlichman, Prof Katz and Prof Lewis for the clarity and candour during the time with us 💙
