EQUAL is a charity with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status that offers Animal-Assisted Services to children, youths, persons with special needs, families, and seniors. EQUAL partners with animals to provide experiential and educational programmes that help empower vulnerable persons such as children, youths, persons with special needs, families, and seniors by enhancing their social and

emotional well-being and supporting social integration in a safe environment — building resilience and inclusive communities.

If you’re still planning your child’s September holiday activities, Horse-lidays offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow and connect through guided interactions with horses in a safe, nature-based environment.

Over 4 half-day sessions, participants will:

30 young athletes. 15 horses. One very different kind of training.

Today we welcomed the Hong Kong, China Olympic Academy to EQUAL as part of their Singapore Overseas Exchange Programme.

For people used to training for performance, this was a different challenge. Horses don’t care about titles, qualifications or how good you are at your sport.

They respond to what they see and feel from you.
And when the horse doesn’t respond the way you expect, that is often where the learning begins.

Do you push harder?
Or do you pause, observe and adjust?

That was our invitation to the group today: Don’t just pay attention to the horse. Pay attention to yourself too.

A very different afternoon of teamwork, communication and self-awareness, with some of the best teachers we know.

What can a horse teach a young person who has withdrawn from the world?

More than you might think.

At EQUAL, our equine-assisted programme offers hidden youths a unique opportunity to build trust, confidence, communication skills, and self-awareness in a safe, supportive environment.

Horses do not judge, do not demand conversation, and respond honestly and consistently. Sometimes, that makes connection feel a little safer.

For youths taking their first steps back into the world, these moments can become powerful building blocks towards recovery, resilience, and social engagement.

🐴✨🎉 A big thank you to everyone who joined us for EQUAL’s Open Stables Day on 11 July last Saturday! It was such a joy to welcome you into our stables, share the stories behind our therapy horses, and show how we partner with them to support the mental well-being of persons in need in Singapore — especially as we celebrated our horses for World Horse Day.

We’re so grateful for the support you showed - whether you shared about our work on your socials, made a generous donation towards horse activities, checked out our partner pop-ups, crafted a keepsake horseshoe, gifted a treat to our herd, or shared EQUAL with your loved ones after the event.

On 9 May 2026, we were honoured to welcome and members of the ecosystem to .sg for a meaningful Community Day.

The day featured both volunteering and experiential activities at our stables, from helping to clean the horses’ stalls as part of supporting animal welfare and care, to participating in excerpts of activities we conduct with our beneficiaries.

These experiential segments offered participants a glimpse into the horse-human connection that sits at the heart of EQUAL’s work. Through simple yet intentional interactions with the horses, the sessions underscored how moments of trust, presence and connection can create deeply meaningful change in the lives of individuals facing social-emotional, mental health, and relational challenges.

This partnership holds special significance for us. In 2011, Temasek Foundation came on board as the founding sponsor of our youth programme — a journey that has since supported thousands of youths across Singapore, including those from schools, care institutions, and children’s homes.

We are deeply grateful that Temasek Foundation continued this journey with us in 2025 through its support of our two-year Haydays with Horses pilot, bringing equine-assisted services to seniors across Singapore in partnership with Active Ageing Centres and nursing homes.

As we look ahead, we are excited for the new doors this partnership will continue to open, creating more opportunities for healing, connection, growth and community through the power of horses.
