ACER is looking for a Case Handler who will be assigned to ACER’s Legal Services.
The work of the Case Handler would consist in providing legal support, performing tasks including:
* Providing legal advice in public procurement procedures (review of draft tender specifications, contracts, notes to the file, invitations to tenders, reply to questions, etc.) and in contract management, contract interpretation, implementation, performance and enforcement;
Working with the Data Protection Officer on:
· drafting, developing and promoting procedures, methodologies, and policies concerning the Agency’s existing and envisaged data processing activities, and monitoring the compliance thereof;
· preparation of information materials, presentations and information awareness sessions concerning Data Protection issues;
· advising and/or assisting ACER staff members with any potential or actual personal data breach as defined by the applicable legal framework, including preparation of draft reports for management and the supervisory authority, if required;
* Support the Access to Documents Coordinator in handling access to documents requests pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1049/20012, and in the preparation of draft reports;
* Assisting, when required, the Registry of ACER’s Board of Appeal;
* Working closely with technical and non-technical teams, providing legal advice on the legal validity and liability related to acts and decisions of ACER and on inter-institutional matters;
* Undertaking legal research and providing administrative and legal support in other areas falling under the responsibility of the Legal Services.
The Case Handler will be required to act with a service culture, handling files with confidentiality and professional integrity. Having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, he/she should be able to operate in multicultural working environments and liaise with different stakeholders.
He/she is expected to be proactive, with a team spirit, good management of stress, good level of flexibility, being able to prioritise, delivering quality and results with attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
The successful candidate may be required, at times, to assist in other areas of the work of ACER, according to needs and priorities, as determined by the Legal Services Team Leader or the Director.
