Po katastrofalnem požaru julija 1920 v Sostrem, ko je pogorelo stanovanjsko in gospodarsko poslopje Francu Juvanu in Strahu, Vidicu pa gospodarsko poslopje, se je v Sostru ustanovila gasilska četa.
