// Trajna () is a Slovenian non-profit organisation and interdisciplinary collective that focuses on creative research and community-based projects. Back in 2018, the collective launched Notweed Paper, a brand that tries to reimagine the role of invasive plants - such as Japanese knotweed - in our economies by turning them into design opportunities instead of enemies. In a conversation with featured in Plant Feverโs book, the collective explains: โWe need to question what is more problematic: the spread of concrete jungles, trade routes and monoculture fields which greatly alter our ecosystems or the spread of species which bring life into an increasing proportion of degraded and polluted areas which have been produced by nothing other than these economies of scale?โ
Plant Feverโs book was released in October 2020 by Belgian publisher Stichting Kunstboek and . Edited by d-o-t-s (the studio that conceived Plant Fever), the publication features thought-provoking essays by Catriona A. H. Sandilands, Penny Sparke and Emanuele Coccia; insightful interviews with Trajna collective, Quentin Hiernaux and Carole Collet; rich visual essays by dach&zephir, Ana Silva and Overmind. The graphic design is signed by Matthieu Visentin (who also crafted the overall visual identity of Plant Fever). The book includes a general introduction by curator (of studio d-o-t-s), as well as a foreword by CIDโs director, Marie Pok.
