We were very proud to present the musical performance “Chronoplous” by the Cyprus Chamber Orchestra, as our main cultural event in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026. We are thankful to the 200 guests that filled Moyzes Concert Hall of Comenius University, for honoring us with their presence. Congratulations to the members of the Orchestra for bringing to Bratislava the sounds of Cyprus in such an extraordinary way!

Ďakujem prezidentovi Slovenskej republiky Petrovi Pellegrinimu za dnešné privítanie veľvyslancov EÚ v Prezidentskom paláci v Bratislave na stretnutí organizovanom v rámci cyperského predsedníctva Rady EÚ 2026. Mali sme možnosť diskutovať s ním o globálnom vývoji, aktuálnych záležitostiach EÚ a situácii v regióne. S potešením sme si vypočuli jeho povzbudivé komentáre k práci, ktorú vykonalo naše predsedníctvo.

Grateful to the President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini for welcoming the EU Ambassadors today at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava, in a meeting organized in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026. We had the opportunity to discuss with him global developments, EU current affairs and the regional situation. We were pleased to hear his encouraging comments on the work carried out by our Presidency.

Today, we celebrate a historic milestone for Cyprus and for the EU. 🇪🇺

22 years ago today, Cyprus joined the European family, together with 🇨🇿🇪🇪🇭🇺🇱🇻🇱🇹🇲🇹🇵🇱🇸🇰🇸🇮, as part of the largest single enlargement in EU history.

For Cypriots, 1 May 2004 was a promise of peace, prosperity, security, opportunity, and hope for reunification. As a small member state, standing at the EU’s southeasternmost frontier, and as a member state still under occupation, Cyprus knows what it means to place your future and security within the European family.

At the helm of the Council of the EU, Cyprus has placed enlargement at the heart of our Presidency, as the EU’s most powerful geopolitical tool. Working together with our enlargement partners and EU institutions to deliver tangible progress on accession negotiations.

Europe will be reunified, when all countries that share its values share its future. 💫

Thankful to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense Robert Kaliňák for the open and frank discussion with EU Member States Ambassadors to the Slovak Republic, in a lunch we organized today in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026. Security and defense is a key priority of the Presidency and discussion was very timely.

Ďakujem podpredsedovi vlády a ministrovi obrany Robertovi Kaliňákovi za otvorenú a úprimnú diskusiu s veľvyslancami EÚ v Slovenskej republike počas obeda, ktorý sme dnes zorganizovali v rámci cyperského predsedníctva Rady EÚ 2026. Bezpečnosť a obrana sú kľúčovou prioritou predsedníctva a diskusia bola veľmi aktuálna.
