MEPJ shpreh keqardhje për faktin që, në një aktivitet kulturor të zhvilluar dje në Pustec, me pjesëmarrjen e Kryeministrit të Maqedonisë së Veriut dhe të Kryetarit të Bashkisë, nuk u luajt edhe Himni Kombëtar Shqiptar, krahas atij të Maqedonisë së Veriut.

Edhe pse aktiviteti ishte organizuar nga një shoqatë lokale, prania e përfaqësuesve të lartë institucionalë dhe të zgjedhurve vendorë i jepte atij një dimension të veçantë publik. Në këtë kontekst, mospërfshirja e Himnit Kombëtar Shqiptar përbën një mungesë serioze dhe një shmangie nga rregullat e shkruara dhe të pashkruara të mirësjelljes dhe protokollit, të cilat kërkojnë dhe imponojnë respektimin e simboleve kombëtare krahas atyre të komuniteteve që ato përfaqësojnë.

Respekti për simbolet kombëtare nuk duhet të jetë çështje politike apo interpretimi. Ai është pjesë e etikës institucionale, e protokollit dhe, mbi të gjitha, e respektit të ndërsjellë, veçanërisht në një hapësirë ku bashkëjetojnë komunitete dhe identitete të ndryshme.

Në Pustec, ashtu si në çdo hapësirë të Republikës së Shqipërisë, respekti për simbolet kombëtare është pjesë e respektit për vetë qytetarët, për vlerat e bashkëjetesës demokratike dhe kulturës qytetare që na bashkon. Është gjithashtu themel i fqinjësisë së mirë dhe marrëdhënieve të shëndosha ndërmjet njerëzve dhe shteteve tona.

President Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia is important. Dialogue is always welcome, particularly when it creates space to address difficult questions with clarity, responsibility and a sense of history.

Just as Albania stands, and will continue to stand, firmly with Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and European future, we stand equally firmly for Kosovo’s sovereignty, independence and rightful place in the Euro-Atlantic family.

There should be no misunderstanding on this point: any attempt to draw a parallel or establish an equation between Kosovo and any other international situation is wrong, opportunistic and profoundly misleading.

Kosovo’s case stands on its own historical, political and legal foundations. At the request of the UN General Assembly, the International Court of Justice was unequivocal: Kosovo’s declaration of independence did not violate international law. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is an entirely different matter. It constitutes a grave violation of the UN Charter and international law, and a blatant breach of the rules-based international order.

From Albania’s perspective, one principle is fundamental: a peaceful, stable and European Western Balkans requires acceptance of the reality and irreversibility of Kosovo’s independence. Kosovo independence has contributed to regional stability and is part of a future in which borders are not changed through force, and peoples and communities can determine their future in peace and security.

We firmly maintain also that Serbia and Kosovo both belong in a common European future. The normalisation of their relations, ultimately leading to mutual recognition, would not weaken Serbia. On the contrary, it would help close one of the most painful chapters of our region’s recent history and open the way to genuine reconciliation, good-neighbourly relations and lasting peace. The Western Balkans needs that positive energy today, perhaps more than ever.

President Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia advances, first and foremost, Ukraine’s interests. This is both understandable and legitimate. Yet, every step that helps Serbia move further away from Russia’s malign influence and closer to Europe is positive. But every engagement is also an opportunity to advance a fundamental understanding: the Western Balkans must move forward, not backward.

Reagim i Ministrisë për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme:

Ministria për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme e Republikës së Shqipërisë dënon me forcë heqjen dhe përdhosjen e flamurit të Ambasadës së Shtetit të Izraelit në Tiranë nga protestues të maskuar gjatë protestës së mbrëmshme.

Veprime të tilla nuk kanë asnjë lidhje me lirinë e shprehjes, të drejtën legjitime për protestë paqësore apo me vlerat tona demokratike dhe standardet evropiane që kemi ndërtuar dhe po forcojmë çdo ditë. Ato janë shfaqje të urrejtjes, intolerancës dhe nxitjes së saj, dhe janë krejtësisht të papajtueshme me parimet e respektit dhe bashkëjetesës që Shqipëria i ka në themel dhe i çmon me përkushtim.

Ky akt i turpshëm bie ndesh me traditën e gjatë shqiptare të mikpritjes, harmonisë dhe respektit për tjetrin, vlera që kanë karakterizuar shoqërinë tonë për breza me radhë. Ato nuk përfaqësojnë as Shqipërinë, as popullin shqiptar. Përfaqësojnë vetëm ata që kërkojnë të provokojnë, të përçajnë dhe të përhapin urrejtje, duke shpërdoruar dhe keqpërdorur në mënyrë të qëllimshme të drejtat dhe liritë.

Ministria riafirmon angazhimin e palëkundur të Shqipërisë për mbrojtjen e misioneve diplomatike dhe simboleve të tyre, në përputhje të plotë me të drejtën ndërkombëtare dhe Konventën e Vjenës për Marrëdhëniet Diplomatike. Ne shprehim solidaritetin tonë me Ambasadën e Shtetit të Izraelit dhe theksojmë se dhuna, intimidimi dhe gjuha e urrejtjes nuk mund dhe nuk do të kenë vend në një shoqëri demokratike.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania strongly condemns the removal and desecration of the flag of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Tirana by masked protesters during last night’s demonstration.

Such acts have nothing to do with freedom of expression, the legitimate right to peaceful protest, or with our democratic values and European standards, which we have built and continue to strengthen every day. They are manifestations of hatred, intolerance, and incitement, and are entirely incompatible with the principles of respect and coexistence that Albania is founded upon and firmly upholds.

This shameful act stands in contrast to the long-standing Albanian tradition of hospitality, harmony, and respect for others, values that have characterized our society for generations. They do not represent Albania, nor the Albanian people. They represent only those who seek to provoke, divide, and spread hatred, while deliberately abusing and misusing rights and freedoms.

The Ministry reiterates Albania’s unwavering commitment to the protection of diplomatic missions and their symbols, in full accordance with international law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. We express our solidarity with the Embassy of the State of Israel and underline that violence, intimidation, and hate speech cannot and will not have a place in a democratic society.
