Rick Riordan: Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Chalice of the Gods
Rating: 9/10 ⭐
The Percy Jackson series are some of my favourite books ever. And while the Gods of Olympus books don't quite live up to the standard, Chalice of the Gods certainly does.
We are back with our favourite trio that we haven't really seen working together since the original series. Percy, Annabeth and Grover are back to complete a new set of quests to ensure that Percy gets to go to New Rome University. It is familiar, it is funny and most importantly incredibly nostalgic. While I wouldn't call it the best book Riordan has ever written, the feeling it gives is the same as with the OG series.
New readers will definitely enjoy this book but in my opinion, it was mostly aimed at the audience that grew up with Percy and the gang. After all, Percy and Annabeth are 17 now and about to start their college life. It is a lovely glimpse back into the olden days of reading about Greek gods and the adventures of our favourite half-bloods. Can't wait for the sequel!
