*The APC National Women's Congress will commemorate its 4th annual International Women's Day on* *Sunday, 8 March 2026, 2:00 p.m.m, at the APC National Headquarters in Freetown.*

The keynote address will be delivered by the Acting Chairman of the APC, Ambassador Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh. Guest speakers will include the National Secretary General of the APC, Mr. Lansana Dumbuya, Esq., as well as distinguished women members of the All People's Congress.

*The United Nations Women theme for 2026 is "Rights, Justice, Action, For All Women and Girls."*

This occasion serves as a valuable platform for the party to reaffirm its commitment to empowering women within its ranks. The commemoration honors the global call to address injustices, stereotypes, biases, and barriers affecting women and girls. It also provides a dedicated space for women to voice their perspectives and aspirations.

*Mama Lowe allocated 60 million old leones to Kono District from the 166 million old leones raised during the Eastern Regional Women's Congress Fundraising Dinner.*

Madam Mariama Lowe Bangura, fondly called Mama Lowe, the President of the APC National Women’s Congress, has officially distributed funds generated from the APC Eastern Regional Women's Congress Fundraising Dinner held in Kono District. During her address, she emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns raised by women across various districts in Sierra Leone, particularly regarding access to financial resources and their experiences with microcredit institutions.

In response to these challenges, Mama Lowe initiated a regional fundraising program aimed at providing financial support to all constituency and district Women's Leaders.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Kono Women for their commitment and sacrifice in hosting a successful event. She stated, “I wish to convey my sincere appreciation. You have made me proud to call Kono my home and birthplace. I am genuinely impressed by your sincerity, honesty, commitment, and leadership.”

Mama Lowe also noted that the Eastern Region is the third to host such a fundraising dinner. However, neither the Western region nor the Northwestern region submitted reports of their fundraising events.

As part of her contribution to the various fundraising events, she donated $1,200 to the Western Region Women’s Congress, as well as 20 million old Leones each to both the Eastern Region Women’s Congress and the Northwest Regional Women’s Congress. Additionally, due to her efforts, the diaspora Women’s Congress donated $1,200 to the Northwest Region, and Musa Bangura from Minnesota donated 25 million old Leones to the Eastern Region Women’s Congress.

The disbursement of funds took place in the presence of notable figures, including Kono District Chairman Sahr Mattia, Eastern Regional Women's Leader Madam Bintu Suma, Kono District Women's Leader Madam Alice Tutu, District Organizing Secretary Madam Asmika Barrie, Deputy Women's Congress Financial Secretary Madam Kumba Kelly, Deputy Treasurer Madam Sarran Kabba, and all constituency chairladies.
Mama Lowe thanked the Regional Chairman, Hon. Maya Kaikai, the National Women’s Congress, Kono District and Constituency executives, as well as the Kailahun and Kenema Women’s Congress, for their invaluable support during this fundraising initiative.

She concluded by extending her gratitude to all sponsors and donors, emphasizing that their contributions were vital to the event's success. She expressed her hopes for their continued support for these women.

Honourable Mabinty Fa Funna Esq has generously donated *Thirty Million Old Leones* to the *APC District Chairlady, Constituency Chairladies, Ward Chairladies, and their Deputies* at the *APC District Party Office in Magburaka.

During the donation, *APC District Women’s Leader, Madam Kadie Larkoh,* expressed *profound gratitude* on behalf of all the Chairladies and their Deputies, thanking Hon. Mabinty Fa Funna Esq for her unwavering support.

*Hon. Aruna Papay Larkoh, Central Hon. Member of Parliament,* described Hon. Mabinty Fa Funna Esq as *a champion for women in the district*, while extending special thanks and appreciation for her support towards APC women.

*HONOURABLE MEMUNATU JALLOH DISTRIBUTED BAGS OF RICE TO MUSLIM FAMILY IN MASIMERA CHIEFDOM AND PROVIDED 20 PANELS OF STREET LIGHT TO KONTA KUMA COMMUNITY*

In an expression of sincere solidarity and support to the Muslim community of Masimera chiefdom, Portloko district, the right *Honorable Memunatu Jalloh* fondly known *Hon Mems*, distributed bags of rice to the Muslim family in honor of Laylatul Qadr, also known as the Night of Power. This significant night, which falls during the last ten days of Ramadan, is a time for reflection, prayers, and community engagement, therefore, the right honourable deemed it necessary as a devoted believer to play that complementary role in promoting Islamic norms and values.

During the session, the right Honourable emphasized the importance of unity and love among all community members especially at this challenging time. That at this difficult moment, the Laylatul Qadr is a reminder of the values of compassion and generosity we must share with one another.

On the same blessed day, the people's Honorable also handed over 20 panels of street light to stakeholders of the Konta Kuma community, a town where she was born and raised. In her remarks, the Honourable emphasized the numerous benefits of the street light, including enhancing security and safety, promoting hours of productive night, especially for school going pupils, and creating a more welcoming environment for all residents.

In her final statement, *Honorable Mems* reiterated her commitment to offer her best for the chiefdom and continue to foster an inclusive environment. Because she believes being together, can build a stronger and more compassionate chiefdom and society that honors diversity and promotes peace.
