On Saturday, 28 February, the National Museum not only hosted its Family Fun Day, but also marked the closing of the exhibition Rediscovering Cultural Cooperation – Sierra Leone and Germany in the 1960s and Beyond.
Among the many young visitors were students from the Department of History and African Studies at Fourah Bay College. They toured the exhibition with co-curator Andrea Meyer, who is supporting the department in further developing its teaching and research in cultural heritage.

Kindly register with the German Embassy by email to [email protected] in order to make your appointment. The Embassy will not admit consultation seekers without prior registration. We will allocate appointments in accordance with the Accra team's vacancies between 9.00am - 2.00pm, first come, first served. To support your registration, kindly send us your individual subject of consultation.

Please note that on the consultation day we will only accept payments by credit card.

In addition, please keep in mind that no electronic devices are allowed to be brought to the Embassy.

JOB VACANCY AT THE GERMAN EMBASSY FREETOWN

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Freetown is looking for an employee (m/f/div.) as
stewardess and cleaner in the residence
for an initial period of two years with the option of extension.
The main areas of activity (tasks) are as follows:
Cleaning of the residence and taking care of household work (including washing, ironing)
Preparation and supportive tasks for official events in the residence
Carrying out other tasks as required and acting as a substitute.
Willingness to cooperate in other areas and the fulfilment of ad hoc assigned tasks is required.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- a BECE certificate

- several years of professional experience in the field of serving in an ambassador’s household

- Willingness to intensively familiarise yourself with complex administrative procedures as well as continuous training
- knowledge of English (written and spoken) at least at level C1
- Ability to work independently in a small team
In addition, desirable qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas (tasks)
• Knowledge of local political and cultural conditions
• Skills in local languages, in particular in Krio
• sociability

The message offers a varied, independent job in a small team with a wide range of tasks. There are opportunities for virtual further education or at the Academy of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
The contractual conditions are governed by local law, the remuneration is based on the salary schedule of the embassy for employees under Sierra Leonean law.
The Federal Foreign Office has set itself the goal of promoting women's careers and expressly invites qualified women to apply.
After a successful selection procedure, the health suitability (by a medical examination of the cooperation doctor of the embassy) must be proven before recruitment. In addition, a person/security check is carried out. Your willingness to participate is required.
Applicants who are not nationals of Sierra Leone must have a valid residence permit and a valid work permit at the latest upon recruitment.

Antonio Rüdiger is committed to helping students with disabilities – and sets an example for religious tolerance.



The German-Sierra Leonean football superstar who plays for Real Madrid spent time in the country at the end of the year. He visited several schools and institutions supported by the Antonio Rüdiger Foundation. The photo shows the Christmas celebration at the Milton Margai School for the Blind which he attended as a practicing Muslim. The school was built in 1982 with the support of the German Christoffel Blind Mission.
