FUNCTIONS OF THE NYGC AS ENSHRINED IN ARTICLE 15B OF THE SLPP CONSTITUTION

1. Recruit and Mobilize the youth and young adults into the membership of the Party without any discrimination;
2. Train youths for leadership roles in the Party and country at large;
3. Raise public awareness on youth and young adult issues;
4. Promote policies that will create the conducive climate for youth and children with a view to realizing their full potential;
5. Sensitize youths on the culture of political tolerance, patriotism
loyalty and dedication to the Party.
6. Enhance their ability for independent work;
7. Provide leadership in the governance of the Party and the country;
8. Create a nationwide organization within the Party to cater for the activities and interest of young members.

Today, the SLPP-NYGC finally succeeds in settling SLPP FBC Chapter Students Union affairs.

The SLPP-NYGC leader, Yesterday, after our PPRC meeting, Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon assigned the responsibility to me as the SLPP-NYGC secretary to do my best to give him a positive result on FBC.

Today, the two leading candidates, Peter Maada Samai and Vandy Manley-Sheriff, and their team members made my assignment very simple. After two hours of engagement, the team was able to build a consensus at the end of the deliberation.

I would like to appreciate Minkailu Sama, Pamela Ruth Kaikai, Samai, and Vandy, including their team members, for us to arrive at a conclusion amicably.

The consensus executive of FBC was taken to the PPRC for acknowledgement and endorsement. The necessary PPRC protocols were observed.

Today, another mile stone for the SLPP-NYGC under the dynamic leader, Ing. F.A.K. As the chief mediator, I would like to thank my boss, Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon for the opportunity to serve in this mediation exercise as a peace and Conflict/Development expert.

It has come to the notice of the Leadership of the SLPP-NYGC that detractors have been engaged in a disinformation and misinformation campaign against the SLPP-NYGC. All flyers and messages purportedly from the NYGC in declaration of any Flag-bearer aspirant are not only false but a deliberate attempt to drag the image of the council into disrepute.

The SLPP- NYGC under the leadership of Ing. *Francis Alpha Kallon* is focused on supporting the Leader of our party His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio to deliver on his Big Five Game Changer Agenda with a special emphasis on the flagship project- Feed Salone.

Since Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon was elected as National Young Generation Leader, he and his elected colleagues have succeeded in restoring the dignity of young people in governance. The appointment of young people into senior leadership positions in government is a restatement of a serious position paper put forward by the NYGC during their conference in Kenema, 2023.

At the most appropriate time, the SLPP-NYGC will make public its successes and achievements ranging from advocating for job opportunities, scholarships, campaigns, and many more.

The NYGC is focused on ensuring it provides the requisite services and support to President Bio and all elected and appointed young leaders to deliver for this country.

The NYGC remained focused on delivering on President Bio’s manifesto promises to the people of this country. Any other message contrary to that direction is null and void and, nobody and I mean nobody will drag the SLPP-NYGC leadership to their desperation moves to becoming flag bearer.
