It’s a Wrap (Cohort Two)
Over a six-week period, Cohort 2 was systematically equipped with practical, localized business development skills. The curriculum was designed to bridge the gap between raw entrepreneurial energy and resilient, structured enterprise management.
The core learning objectives achieved across the three age brackets included:
1. Ideation: Moving from copying existing street models to deliberate Business Idea Generation & Opportunity Identification.
2. Validation: Conducting Basic Market Research using real-world Sierra Leonean case examples.
3. Financial Control: Masterclass fluency in Financial Literacy (budgeting, distinguishing fixed vs. variable cost structures, and real-time bookkeeping).
4. Communication: Formulating a strong Value Proposition and delivering a persuasive 90-second elevator pitch.
5. Formalization: Understanding the Basics of Registering a Small Business in Sierra Leone (CAC, local councils, and documentation).
6. Resilience: Designing Sustainable Practices & Social Enterprise Models that convert local waste into economic assets.
The training shifted mindsets from a subsistence-based hand-to-mouth trading mentality to strategic business ownership.
