EID-UL-FITR MESSAGE FROM AMB. ALHAJI OSMAN FODAY YANSANEH
Acting National Chairman, All Peoples Congress (APC)
As we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all Muslims and to every Sierra Leonean. This sacred occasion reminds us of sacrifice, discipline, justice, and compassion—values that stand in stark contrast to the current realities facing our nation.
The latest World Happiness Report has once again delivered a damning verdict on the state of our nation—Sierra Leone is ranked 146th out of 147 countries, making us one of the most unhappy societies on earth.
This is not just statistics—it is a national indictment.
It is a reflection of a country where hardship has become the norm, where hope is fading, and where the basic dignity of the ordinary citizen is under constant strain. From rising cost of living to shrinking opportunities, from economic stagnation to declining public trust, the signs are clear: this is a nation in distress.
The All Peoples Congress stands today not just as an opposition, but as a government-in-waiting—ready to restore hope, rebuild confidence, and return dignity and happiness to our people.
As we continue with our internal elections, this is a defining moment for our party. We must reject division, resist bitterness, and rise above factional interests. The suffering of our people demands maturity, discipline, and unity of purpose.
Let us therefore use this period to strengthen our ranks, reconcile our differences, and present a united, credible, and formidable force capable of rescuing Sierra Leone from its current state.
This Eid must mark not just the end of fasting—but the beginning of a renewed struggle for national redemption.
May Allah guide our path, strengthen our unity, and bless Sierra Leone with the leadership it so urgently deserves.
Eid Mubarak!
Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh
Acting National Chairman, APC.
