My fellow Sierra Leoneans home and abroad, good day to you all. I trust that you and your families are keeping safe in this crisis (COVID 19). I would especially like to thank you all under our PTTP forums (From 1-108 forums) for obeying and keeping our forums rules. As COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to rise during this pandemic, especially in our beautiful country Sierra Leone, please listen to all our medical pundit and government guidance to help in reducing the risk of contracting coronavirus (COVID-19).
Looking at our political structure in Sierra Leone, especially the political various obstacles to our economic development, or why our country is not developing. When things go wrong, political supporters from party A and B, including some politicians often look to assign blame in order to gain political capital, instead of fixing the issue we are facing .
Reference to my voice message, in relation to the above unaccepted voice message, Psychology talks about the ‘self-serving bias’, that many of us will take the credit for our political parties, politicians or ourselves if things go good. Yet, lay blame on other political parties, politicians or individuals when things go bad.
Therefore, I blame party A and B, as they are responsible for all the wrong things that is happening to our development. Moreover, our political parties seems to support the 'blaming games' ideology as perfectly acceptable for their political gained.
For example, imagine taking a driver’s test. If you pass, then you will likely make it an internal reason by saying, I studied hard, or I’m actually a good driver naturally. Yet, if you fail the same test, suddenly there is an external reason you may say, the weather was bad, it wasn’t the car I usually drive, the observer doesn’t like me, l was stress by Mr. A or Mrs B just before my driving test, or l didn’t get enough sleep last night. However, by blaming others, you are actually making yourself powerless, as you fail to take accountability, that it was you who may need to improve, whether by studying, and practicing more efficiently.
In fact, If you use blame to avoid accountability, you are also avoiding speaking truthfully about how you feel, accepting and listening to how others feel. Blame games are problematic to all development. Politicians engage in blame games to make other political parties look incompetent, rather than finding workable solutions to the real problems. So, being active, rather than reactive.
Nevertheless, PTTP political movement stand against all political blaming games, political propaganda, hate in politics, abusive language, any insolent act, insulting, offensive words, blasphemy that shows insult disrespect, tribalism and regionalism messages. Since, one of PTTP vision, is in reach of the positivity, where we will demolish people oppression, with uplifting and rebuilding our country, to accommodate all residents in every area of Sierra Leone.
Thank you all for understanding, we truly appreciate your usual cooperation.
Alfred Peter Sesay
CEO Acting Leader and Chairman of the PTTP Political Movement in Sierra Leone.
