THE IMPLEMENTATION TEAM OF THE REVIEWED CIVIL SERVICE CODE AND RULES COMMENCES A NATIONWIDE POPULARISATION OF THE CODE AND RULES.
The Implementation Team of the Reviewed Civil Service Code and Rules led by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) has successfully completed the first phase of the Popularisation of the Code and Rules in Kono, Tonkolili and Bombali Districts, respectively.
Addressing civil servants during the popularisation meetings, the Director General of The Human Resource Management Office, Mr. Ansu Samuel Tucker said the Reviewed Code and Rules entailed the principles that guide the behavior and conduct of civil servants with the sole aim to create the enabling environment for improved service delivery.
He highlighted the emerging issues encapsulated in the document such as Provincial Administration, occupational Health and Safety, Paternity Leave and Whistle Blowing that will benefit civil servants and the public, and improve transparency and accountability in the service.
The Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Mr. Khalilu Osman Bah entreated civil servants to familiarize themselves with the Reviewed Civil Service Code and Rules which will enhance their Functional effectiveness.
The popularisation of the Reviewed Civil Service Code and Rules culminated from almost five years of nationwide consultations and validations of the previous Civil Service Code, Regulations and Rules.
The process was undertaken by the Human Resource Management Office, Public Service Commission, Office of the Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service and the Ministry Of Public Administration And Political Affairs and largely funded by the European Union.
