Today, I had the honour of representing President Julius Maada Bio at the formal reopening of Sierra Leone’s newly modernized Government Printing Department, where I also delivered the keynote statement.

I stated that this modern facility marks an important step in strengthening national capacity and reforming public service delivery. Equipped with advanced technology, the facility is now positioned to serve government, businesses, and schools, in Sierra Leone and the subregion with greater efficiency, security, and quality.

With this investment, we are restoring local capacity, improving efficiency and security, creating jobs, and demonstrating that our public institutions can once again become productive engines of growth.

Yesterday I chaired a high-level roundtable with Government of Sierra Leone officials and UK High Commissioner Josephine Gauld to shape the next phase of the UK–Sierra Leone partnership—focused on investment, economic transformation, stronger systems and long-term institutional support.

Sierra Leone is moving beyond dependency to growth driven by stronger institutions, private-sector investment, energy, infrastructure and jobs. I welcome the UK’s shift toward a growth-and-reform partnership and reaffirm our commitment to an investment-ready economy aligned with national priorities.

Over the weekend, I joined His Excellency Julius Maada Bio in Kenema for the turning of the sod ceremony for the new SLPP Eastern Regional Office - an important step in strengthening the party’s presence, coordination, and engagement across the Eastern Region.

I also had the privilege of joining Port Loko stakeholders in opening a modern community health center in Masimera Chiefdom, Port Loko District, a major step in expanding access to quality healthcare in rural communities.

These engagements reflect our commitment to strengthening both the institutions that sustain our democracy and the services that support our communities.
