Miss Sierra Leone Mariyam Lorba Konneh has proudly carried the colours, culture and heritage of Sierra Leone onto the spectacular international stage of the 73rd Miss World in Vietnam.
On September 2, all 111 Miss World national ambassadors gathered in Nha Trang for a spectacular celebration of national costumes, traditional dances, culture and unity, as part of the “Hello Vietnam, Hello World” cultural showcase.
Among them was Sierra Leone’s own Mariyam Konneh, who stood out in a striking national costume inspired by the rich cultural heritage and traditions of her homeland. Her elegant presentation offered the international audience a glimpse into the beauty, identity and cultural diversity of Sierra Leone.
Mariyam also proudly represented Sierra Leone during the Dances of the World segment, using traditional movement, music and cultural expression to tell the story of her nation through performance.
The vibrant celebration brought together ambassadors from across the globe, with an audience of approximately 10,000 people witnessing the colourful display of culture and heritage in Nha Trang.
For Sierra Leoneans, Mariyam’s appearance was more than a pageant moment. It was a powerful opportunity to put Sierra Leonean culture, creativity and national pride before the world.
