Message to the New Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Andy Burnham
------------------------------------------------
Dear Prime Minister,
First and foremost, I extend my warmest congratulations on your election as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. I wish you every success in your leadership and hope that you will guide your country with wisdom, peace, and prosperity.
Today, I write to convey a message that reflects the hopes and sentiments of the people of the Republic of Somaliland.
The United Kingdom occupies a significant place in Somaliland's history. As the former colonial power, Britain administered Somaliland and formally recognized its independence on 26 June 1960.
However, the people of Somaliland continue to hold important historical questions and grievances. More than a century has passed since the relationship between our two peoples began, yet many Somalilanders still ask what role the United Kingdom has played in supporting Somaliland's development, both during the colonial period and after independence.
There are also historical issues that remain deeply embedded in the collective memory of the Somaliland people. Among them is the transfer of a portion of Somaliland's territory—known as the Reserved Area—to Ethiopia during the colonial era. For many Somalilanders, this remains a painful chapter in their history.
Mr. Prime Minister, many
Somalilanders believe that the loss of their independent statehood through union with Somalia, the devastating consequences of the 1977 Ethiopia–Somalia War, in which many Somalilanders lost their lives, and the atrocities committed against the people of Somaliland by the Siad Barre regime in 1988 were all rooted in historical decisions made during the period of British administration, including the transfer of part of Somaliland's territory.
When compared with the continuing engagement of other European nations with their former territories—such as France's relationship with the Republic of Djibouti and Italy's historical ties with southern Somalia—many Somalilanders feel that the United Kingdom has not fulfilled the historical role they had hoped it would play.
Mr. Prime Minister,
Today, your government has an opportunity to open a new chapter founded on justice, friendship, and recognition of historical realities.
We respectfully call upon the United Kingdom to play a meaningful role in addressing these long-standing historical concerns and to become the second country to formally recognize the Republic of Somaliland.
Such recognition would not merely be a political act. It would send a powerful message that the United Kingdom stands for democracy, peace, and the right of peoples to determine their own future.
Furthermore, extending recognition to Somaliland would help heal some of the painful historical memories that remain in the hearts of the people of Somaliland—memories left by decisions taken during Britain's administration of the territory.
Thank you
Ali Hassan Awale (Ali Nageeye)

Fariin Ku Socota Ra'iisul Wasaaraha Cusub ee Boqortooyada Midowday (UK) Andy Burnham
----'-------------------------------------------
Mudane Ra'iisul Wasaare,
Ugu horrayn, waxaan kuu dirayaa hambalyo diirran munaasabadda lagugu doortay xilka Ra'iisul Wasaaraha Boqortooyada Midowday. Waxaan kuu rajaynayaa guul, hoggaan wanaagsan iyo inaad shacabkaaga ku hoggaamiso nabad iyo barwaaqo.
Maanta waxaan kuu soo gudbinayaa fariin ka tarjumaysa dareenka iyo rajada ay qabaan shacabka Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland.
Boqortooyada Midowday waxay qayb muhiim ah ku leedahay taariikhda Somaliland. Waxay ahayd awooddii gumaysiga ee maamuli jirtay dalka, waxayna ahayd dawladdii aqoonsatay madaxbannaanidii Somaliland 26-kii Juun 1960.
Si kastaba ha ahaatee, shacabka Somaliland waxay qabaan su'aalo iyo tabashooyin taariikhi ah. In ka badan qarni ayaa ka soo wareegay bilowgii xidhiidhka labada dhinac, hase yeeshee dad badan waxay is weydiiyaan kaalintii ay UK ka qaadatay horumarka iyo taageerada Somaliland muddadaas iyo wixii ka dambeeyey xorriyadda.
Waxaa sidoo kale jira arrimo taariikheed oo aan weli ka bixin xusuusta shacabka, waxaana ka mid ah dhul ka mid ah Somaliland oo xilligii gumaysiga lagu wareejiyey Itoobiya, kaas oo loo yiqiin Reserved Area. Arrintaasi waxay weli bulshada Somaliland u tahay xusuus xanuun badan.
Md Raisal wasaare dadka reer somaliland in ay somaliya la midoban oo ay lumiyaan dawladnimadoodi iyo in ay galaan dagaaladii naf waaga ahaa, sida dagaalkii 1977 ee Ethiopia,oo dad badani ku dhinteen, iyo dagaalkii 1988 ee xukuumadii siyad bare ku xasuuqday dadka rer somaliland , dhamaan dhibaatoyinka waxa kalifay talaabadii Dalka boqortoyada England ay ku wareejiyeen qayb ka mid dhulka reer Somaliland.
Hadba Marka la barbar dhigo kaalinta ay dalal kale oo Yurub ahi ilaa maanta ka qaataan dalalkii ay h**e u maamuli jireen, sida Faransiiska ee Jamhuuriyadda Jabuuti iyo Talyaaniga ee koonfurta Soomaaliya, shacabka Somaliland waxay dareemayaan in Boqortooyada Midowday aanay qaadan kaalintii taariikhiga ahayd ee laga filayey.
Mudane Ra'iisul Wasaare,
Maanta waxaad haysataan fursad aad ku furtaan bog cusub oo ku dhisan caddaalad, saaxiibtinimo iyo garowsiga xaqiiqooyinka taariikhiga ah.
Waxaan idinka codsanaynaa inaad door muuqda ka qaadataan xal u helidda tabashooyinka taariikhiga ah ee jira, isla markaana aad noqotaan waddanka labaad ee si rasmi ah u aqoonsada Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland.
Tallaabadaasi ma noqon doonto oo keliya aqoonsi siyaasadeed, balse waxay noqon doontaa farriin muujinaysa in Boqortooyada Midowday ay garab taagan tahay dimuqraadiyadda, nabadda iyo xaqa ay ummaduhu u leeyihiin inay iyagu go'aansadaan
Mahadsanid
Cali Xasan ( Cali Nageeye)
