MAYOM, TUESDAY 26TH MAY, 2026
Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil, accompanied by senior State government officials, joined mourners at the funeral rites of his beloved late mother, Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar, in Mayom County.

Speakers at the event described the late Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar as a caring and God-fearing mother whose inspiring legacy touched all who shared cherished memories with her, both within the family of the late Sultan Manytuil Wejang Wuor and beyond.

Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar passed away at the age of 87 in Juba on May 12, 2026, following a short illness.

The funeral rite was attended by senior State government officials, her immediate family members, relatives, and members of the general public.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

The prayers will take place at two locations:
1: Munuki – at the residence of Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil, Juba
2: Nuana – Mayom Town

Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil, accompanied by state government officials, on Saturday joined mourners in paying tribute and last respects to the late Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar during a state burial ceremony held at the graveyard of the late Sultan Manytuil Wejang in Mayom County.

Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar passed away at the age of 87 in Juba on May 12, 2026, after a short illness.

Among those in attendance were senior state government officials, UNMISS field staff, immediate family members, relatives, and members of the general public.

The late Mama Chuoch Ruai Gar was described as a beacon of unity and a devoted mother whose inspiring legacy touched all who shared cherished memories with her, both within the family of the late Sultan Manytuil Wejang Wuor and the wider Bul Community.

Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil has today Friday, received mourners at Mankien Airstrip, ahead of the anticipated arrival of the late Mama Chuoch Ruai's remains from Juba on Saturday, which is destined to be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Mayom County.
The mourners included her immediate family, relatives, and beloved loved ones, alongside the descendants of the late Mama Chuoch Ruai Gaar.

CONDOLENCES MESSAGE ON THE PASSING OF RUAI GATTOT NYOAY

The Office of the Governor of Unity State has learned with profound sorrow of the passing of Ruai Gattot Nyoay, who departed this life on 19th May 2026 in Bentiu, Unity State, after a short illness.

Late Ruai Gattot was a dedicated elder and a hero who made immense sacrifices for the independence of South Sudan. He was also a notable peacemaker within the Bul Community of Mayom County.

His passing is a great loss to the people of Unity State, Mayom County, and his immediate family, who will dearly miss his wisdom, valuable contributions, and affectionate care.

On behalf of His Excellency Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang and the Government of Unity State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, loved ones, and the entire Gattot Nyoay family during this difficult and painful moment.

TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVE FOOD ASSISTANCE IN RIOTRIAK, BUDANG PAYAM, RUBKONA COUNTY

RIOTRIAK, MAY 19th, 2026.

The Government of Unity State has launched food distribution in Riotriak Town, Rubkona County, marking the official commencement of general food distribution across the counties of the State.

As directed by His Excellency Dr. Joseph Manytuil Wejang, Governor of Unity State, the food assistance aims to support local communities in coping with the adverse effects of climate change, which have contributed to acute food insecurity across the State.
With the farming season approaching, the food assistance provided by the State Government is expected to boost agricultural production and improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable families, including the elderly and persons living with disabilities.

The distribution exercise benefited over two thousand five hundred households, fulfilling the commitment made by H.E. Governor Dr. Joseph Manytuil during his address to the people of Unity State at Bentiu Independence Stadium on April 20th, 2026, during his official reception ceremony in the State.

The Government of Unity State, under the leadership of His Excellency Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang has officially commenced, the food distribution to internally displaced persons in Bill-thiang, Riotriak Budang Payam of Rubkona County.

The food tokens targeting residents impacted by the recent relocation around the GPOC oil wells facilities form a crucial part of Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil's intervention plan to support the local communities grappling with severe food shortages in the state.

This development came as fulfilment of the promises made by H.E. Governor Dr. Joseph Manytuil during his addresses to the people of Unity State at Bentiu Independence Stadium upon his arrival in the State, this kind of food distribution shall be excecuted in phases expected to be extended to counties across the State.
