The SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General for Administration and Finance, Cde. Baba Medan Konyi, has returned to Juba following a five-day official visit to Lakes State.

During the visit, the SPLM leadership officially launched the Membership Registration exercise in Lakes State and participated in the registration of party members in Rumbek Central Constituency.

Upon their arrival at Juba International Airport, the Secretary General and his deputy were warmly received by Secretaries, deputiesand members of staff from the SPLM National Secretariat.

The visit is part of the SPLM’s ongoing efforts to strengthen party structures, expand membership registration, and engage with members at the grassroots level.

Under the theme “Our Renewed Unity and Commitment Shall Enlighten the SPLM Future,” SPLM Secretary General Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit today held a meeting with the staff of the SPLM National Secretariat in Juba to discuss staff welfare, management and the strengthening of the party ahead of the December 2026 General Elections.

Addressing the cadres, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul called for a shift from quantitative to qualitative organization, emphasizing the need for cadre purification, structuralization, discipline and continuous capacity building.

He urged the staff to overcome sectionalism, indiscipline, and gossip, while emphasizing that every cadre and staff member has an important role in the success of the SPLM.

The SPLM Secretary General also announced that the 3rd SPLM National Convention is expected to be held before the end of November 2026, as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.

Cde. Kwong Danhier and Cde. Baba Medan Konyi assured the staff that their welfare remains a priority, announcing that general staff meetings will be held every three months to address challenges and find solutions.

The staff representatives, including Cde. Meriba Lojong, Cde. Michael, and Cde. Benjamin Ajonga, shared concerns affecting staff and reaffirmed their commitment to work together to strengthen the SPLM and support the party’s preparations for the December 2026 elections.

The SPLM National Secretariat is delighted to announce the official return of Cde. Hon. Advocate Bol Akhot Agok, Former Commissioner of Yirol West County, back to the party. In a formal press statement Cde. Bol expressed his renewed commitment to the nation-building vision of the mass movement.

Rejoining the mighty SPLM party, Cde. Bol Akhot Agok was received warmly at the SPLM National Secretariat by the Secretary of Political Affairs, Mobilization and Organization, Cde. Amb. John Andurga Duku, alongside the SPLM Secretary for States and Membership Affairs, Cde. Makuc Aru. The Secretariat leadership praised his decision to return home, highlighting that the doors of the SPLM remain wide open for all cadres dedicated to the progress and stability of South Sudan.

In light of this significant homecoming, the SPLM leadership issues a vibrant call to action for all remaining comrades, compatriots, and citizens across the states and counties. We urge all members who have stepped back to return to the historic ranks of the SPLM, join hands with together to promote peace, unity, and effective service delivery at the grassroots level, and mobilize together to shape a prosperous, democratic, and peaceful future for South Sudan.

The SPLM Chairperson of Lakes State Cde. Madhang Majok Meen, has officially launched the SPLM Leadership Retreat and Training under the theme “Peace, Unity, and Service Delivery".

The training was attended by the SPLM State Secretariat, State Liberation Council Members, Parliamentary and Executive Caucuses, County Chairpersons and Secretaries, and League Leaders.

Addressing the participants, Cde. Madhang urged SPLM comrades to uphold Unity, Equality, and Progress as guiding principles to enhance party cohesion and service delivery across Lakes State.

SPLM Secretary General Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit today convened a strategic, high-level meeting with the SPLM Resource Mobilization Committee at the National Secretariat to fast-track financial readiness and bolster grassroots reorganization across the country.

The high-profile consultative session was attended by SPLM Member of the Political Bureau Hon. Cde. Africano Monday, Minister of Presidential Affairs, alongside H.E. Cde. Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, SPLM Chairperson and Governor of Western Equatoria State. The meeting centered on comprehensive progress reports presented by the Resource Mobilization Committee, which is ably chaired by Hon. Cde. Lam Tungwar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, and deputized by Hon. Cde. Paul Dhel Gum, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Transport. The committee also incorporates twenty committed SPLM cadres from the business community, including Cde. Bibi Ali, Cde. Kur Ajing, Cde. Obaj Olaw, Cde. Lado Lukak, and other dedicated comrades.

SPLM Chairperson and Governor of Upper Nile State H.E. Cde. James Koang Chuol Ranlay recently undertook an inspiring visit to Longechuk County to reaffirm the state government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring peaceful, free, and fair elections.

As the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) steps up its overall readiness and preparedness for the upcoming general elections, the party remains deeply committed to advancing internal democracy by conducting Congresses at all levels, culminating in the SPLM Third National Convention. In alignment with these democratic milestones, the SPLM leadership has directed all party leaders and cadres to immediately report to their respective constituencies ahead of the upcoming Congresses.

During his engagement with local residents, community leaders, members of the organized forces, and other representatives, the governor and SPLM Chairperson of Upper Nile State H.E. Cde. James Koang emphasized the paramount importance of peace, unity, and stability as the state prepares for the upcoming polls.
