The Commissioner’s Office of Aweil West County wishes to unequivocally disavow a letter dated 1 February 2026, which has been circulated purporting to request construction materials from the Nyamel County Hospital Development Group. This document is fraudulent, unauthorized, and devoid of legitimacy.

For clarity, the Commissioner’s Office maintains strict administrative protocols in all official communications. Genuine requests are:
- Issued exclusively on official letterhead, bearing the Commissioner’s signature and seal.
- Processed through the County Administration Secretariat to ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinated with the Finance Department for accountability and transparency.
- Addressed to the appropriate State Ministry or recognized donor institutions, never to individuals or committees in an informal manner.

The forged letter in circulation is a blatant attempt to misappropriate the authority of this office and mislead the public. It should be treated as null and void.

The Commissioner’s Office reaffirms its unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and lawful governance. We urge citizens, partners, and institutions to exercise vigilance and verify the authenticity of any correspondence attributed to this office. Suspicious documents should be reported immediately to the county administration for investigation.

Charles Madut Akol, Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, in launching the rehabilitation of the 24-kilometre Akuangap–Marialbaai road. The project, implemented by African Resources Company (ARC), will enhance transport and improve access to essential services for communities in Nyamlel and Aweil Town

Aweil West Crowned Inter-County Football CHAMPIONS—SATURDAY 17th January 2025 in FREEDOM SQUARE, AWEIL TOWN.
The Commissioner of Aweil West County, Hon. Abuol Akok Akok, proudly congratulates the Aweil West County Football Team for their outstanding victory over Aweil East County in today’s Inter-County Cup final.
The thrilling match was graced by key dignitaries including Hon. Garang Thiang (Commissioner, Aweil East), Hon. Bol Akoon (Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies),Hon. Bol Akuar (State Minister of Youth & Sports), Mr. Dumo Abang (President, Aweil Football Association), Hon. Garang Mawien (DG, Ministry of Agriculture),Hon.Achak Thiep (Mp). ,Ajiith Angony (State MP) and many others

Commissioner Attends State Cabinet Meeting on Christmas and Security Preparedness

Aweil West County Commissioner, Hon. Aboul Akok Akok participated in an extended State Cabinet meeting chaired by the new Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal H.E.Gen.Charles Madut Akol on 24th December 2025 in the State Secretariat. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Christmas celebrations, introduction of the new state administration, and coordination of security measures across the counties.
The Commissioner reaffirmed her commitment to peaceful festivities, effective service delivery, and close collaboration with the new leadership to ensure safety and unity during the holiday

season.
Security agencies were tasked with enhancing patrols, while local authorities pledged to engage communities in promoting peace and order.

Hon. Aboul Akok Akok, Commissioner of Aweil West County, arrived in Aweil town today to attend the official Welcoming Reception for the newly appointed Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State,H.E..GEN.MADUT AKOL
The event, held at Aweil Fredoom Square , brought together state officials, county commissioners, traditional leaders, and community representatives to mark the beginning of the Governor’s tenure. Commissioner Abuol Akok joined fellow leaders in expressing support for the new administration and reaffirmed her commitment to intergovernmental collaboration and inclusive governance.
Speaking briefly upon arrival, the Commissioner stated, “This is a moment of unity and renewed purpose. We stand ready to work together for peace, service delivery, and the development of our state.”
The reception highlighted the importance of collective leadership in advancing stability and prosperity across Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

Official Statement on the Upgrading of Nyamlel PHCC to County Hospital

Date: Thursday, 13 November 2025

On behalf of the people of Aweil West County, I extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, H.E. Simon Ober Mawut, for his visionary leadership in chairing the Sixteenth Council of Ministers meeting held at the State Secretariat General in Aweil.

We are especially thankful to the Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Jafaar Riny Riny, for his strategic foresight and unwavering commitment to public health, as demonstrated by the successful presentation and approval of the memo proposing the upgrading of Nyamlel Primary Health Care Centre to a County Hospital.

This landmark decision marks a transformative milestone in the health infrastructure of Aweil West County. The elevation of Nyamlel PHCC to County Hospital status will not only enhance the delivery of essential medical services to our citizens but also address the pressing healthcare demands of the growing population, including our brothers and sisters displaced from Sudan.

As Commissioner, I reaffirm our County’s full support and readiness to collaborate with the State Ministry of Health and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the swift implementation of this upgrade.
