This notice serves to inform the government of Lakes State and the entire public that you are all invited to attend the official reception of our Governor, H.E Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen at Rumbek Freedom Square tomorrow Monday 23rd/2/2026.

We also inform the public that H.E Governor Madhang Majok Meen has been joined by our Former Governor H.E Governor Rin Tueny Mabor for the official handing over of the State Government Administration in a public rally.
We inform our people to be in Rumbek Freedom Square by 7:00 am and our program commences by 9:00am.

Gen. Madhang Majok assumes his Governor's role.

Friday, 23rd January 2026, H.E. Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen, the Governor of Lakes State has assumed his gubernatorial role as he was welcomed at Lakes State Coordination office in Juba.

Addressing the media, Governor Majok reiterated his commitment to the task and the role His Excellency, the president has given him to implement in Lakes State.

The Governor continued to echo his readiness to work with staffs of the government in all institutions.
He called for no panic to the already existing staffs of the former governor.

His journey will commence as soon as consultative meeting with Lakes State stakeholders is conducted.
The Governor will continue to meets political leaders, community leaders, women leaders as well as youth leaders before he leaves for the state in Lakes State Coordination.

On November 5, 2025, H.E. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor made a courtesy visit to H.E. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, the Governor of Central Equatoria State in Juba.

The primary focus of this meeting was on administrative matters; it involved discussions regarding governance and administration within the states, aiming to strengthen the ties between the two "sisterly states."
