Press Statement: PPA Denounces US Deportation of Convicted Criminals to Eswatini

The Political Parties Assembly (PPA) strongly condemns the recent deportation of convicted criminals from the United States to the Kingdom of Eswatini. This move is a blatant disregard for the sovereignty and well-being of our nation.

Key Concerns:

- Sovereignty Violation: Eswatini did not consent to being a dumping ground for foreign convicts.
- Public Safety Risk: Deportees include serious offenders, posing a threat to citizens' safety and security.
- Humanitarian Concerns: Integrating foreign convicts strains local resources and infrastructure.

Demands:

- Immediate Action: US to recall deported individuals and engage in dialogue on repatriation protocols.
- Respect Sovereignty: US to respect Eswatini's laws and sovereignty.
- Regime Accountability: Ruling regime to prioritize citizens' welfare and safety.
Call to Action:
The PPA urges citizens, civil society, and international community to join us in condemning this action. We demand protection of our sovereignty and human rights

Postponement of Petition Delivery to Parliament

The Political Parties Assembly (PPA) Executive Committee, in an urgent meeting, has resolved to postpone the petition delivery to Parliament. This decision was made in light of escalating tensions, as it has become evident that Parliament and the Government are hungry for violence and blood of the Progressive Masses. We kindly request that you no longer proceed to Lobamba for the event as previously scheduled.

Earlier, the Acting Clerk to Parliament, Director Dr. Malaza, confirmed that Parliament would receive our petition. However, at the eleventh hour, she informed us that no one from her leadership would be dispatched to receive the petition. Despite our request for this decision in writing, no formal communication has been provided as of the release of this statement.

Simultaneously, the National and Regional Police Commissioners contacted us, demanding permission for the petition delivery. We informed them that we are awaiting the relevant government institutions to convene a consultative stakeholder meeting, as required by the Public Order Act of 2017. Despite this, they remain adamant that no event will proceed without their explicit permission.

It is unfortunate that, despite full compliance with the Public Order Act including notifying all relevant stakeholders such as the Regional Administrator and the Ministry of Works and Transport, there appears to be a deliberate attempt to provoke conflict. However, this leadership remains steadfast in its commitment to a peaceful and orderly delivery of the petition.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this postponement and request your understanding and collective wisdom as we navigate this challenging situation. Our preparations and organization remain intact and we will pursue the petition delivery at the earliest opportunity.

Thank you for your continued support and solidarity.
