๐Ÿš• Leap Taxi App Partners with Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฟDriving Innovation, Creating Jobs, and Empowering Local Businesses

On 12 February 2026, at Mountain View International Hotel, Leap Taxi App proudly announced an exciting partnership with A Peculiar Peoples Person , committing a R75,000 sponsorship over three years (R25,000 per year).

Through this partnership, Leap Taxi App becomes the Official Transportation Partner for the Made In Eswatini Consumer Fair, taking place on 1 May 2026 on Dr Sishayi Road.

In addition, through its sister company Leap IT and General Suppliers, Leap Taxi will also serve as the Official Technology Partner for Made in Eswatini, responsible for the development and ongoing support of the Made in Eswatini eCommerce platform.

This platform will allow Made in Eswatini products to be sold locally and internationally, and will also be supported by the Leap Taxi App Food and Parcel Delivery Platform, which is launching later this year.

๐Ÿ’ป Introducing the Made in Eswatini Tech Space

As part of this partnership, Leap Taxi App will also curate and host a Technology Space at the Made In Eswatini Consumer Fair on 1 May 2026.

The Tech Space will provide Made in Eswatini technology companies, startups, developers, and digital innovators with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the public, investors, businesses, and government stakeholders.

This initiative aims to highlight the growing technology ecosystem in Eswatini, while creating opportunities for local tech solutions to gain visibility, partnerships, and market access.

๐ŸŽค Creating Jobs Through Technology

During the sponsorship announcement, Leap Taxi App Director, Vusani Matsebula, highlighted the significant economic opportunities created by the platform.

In 2025, 52 licensed taxi drivers registered on the platform, but only 31 drivers were actively servicing demand. Despite this limited supply, drivers collectively generated over R1.5 million in revenue.

However, the data also revealed a major opportunity:

โ€ข The R1.5 million revenue came from only about 30% of total ride demand
โ€ข Nearly 70% of ride requests were lost due to driver unavailability
โ€ข Most missed rides occurred between 10PM and 5AM

If driver availability matched demand, the platform could have generated over R6 million in driver revenue.

Importantly, Leap Taxi drivers keep 100% of the revenue they generate, making it a powerful platform for income generation and youth employment.

๐Ÿ›ก Prioritizing Passenger Safety

At Leap Taxi App, safety remains a top priority. We strongly encourage drivers to prioritize passenger safety and operate professionally at all times.

Leap Taxi App also assists drivers in acquiring vehicle insurance that includes passenger liability cover, an initiative that has been greatly supported by stakeholders within the tourism industry, as it strengthens confidence in the countryโ€™s transportation services.

Present during the sponsorship announcement was the Chairperson of Hotaes,Mr. Marc Ward, who emphasized the importance of ensuring that tourists visiting Eswatini can easily access safe, reliable, and professional transportation services, just as they do in other countries around the world.

๐Ÿš– Call to Action for Taxi Operators

We encourage licensed taxi drivers to join Leap Taxi App today and start benefiting from the growing demand for ride services.

Drivers with qualifying vehicles are also encouraged to obtain the necessary taxi permits so they can operate legally and take advantage of the opportunities available through the platform.

Our team is available to assist drivers with compliance information and the onboarding process.

How a Swazi Taxi App is Rewiring the Nation's Commercial Soul

By: Siphiwo Pele Lushaba

Mbabane- In the heart of Mbabane, a narrative is quietly shifting away from the familiar rhythms of street vending and roadside commerce toward a future coded in algorithms and digital marketplaces. On Thursday, at the Mountain View Hotel, a partnership was cemented that positions a local ride-hailing platform as the unlikely architect of Eswatiniโ€™s next economic chapter.

Leap Taxi App, in a strategic alliance with the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair, has committed E75,000 over three years, not merely as a transport sponsor, but as the technological backbone for a national retail revolution .

While the cheque presentation formalized the companyโ€™s role as the official transportation provider, the conversation quickly veered away from the asphalt and onto the server. Vusani Matsebula, Director of Leap Taxi App, explained to attendees that the core of the deal lies in the digital infrastructure they are building alongside sister company Leap IT. "We are managing the e-commerce platform that will host verified Swazi products," Matsebula stated.

The initiative aims to dismantle geographical barriers, allowing local goods to be purchased via secure gateways like MTN MoMo and credit cards, effectively placing Swazi craftsmanship in the global marketplace without requiring a physical storefront .

This vision will materialize at the upcoming Fair on May 1 with the introduction of a "Futuristic Tech & Innovation Space," a pavilion curated specifically for businesses that trade in code rather than commodities. It is a deliberate effort to spotlight the nation's digital natives. However, the most compelling argument for this digital leap came not from promises of future tech, but from a stark audit of the present.

Leap Taxi App revealed that in 2025, with only 31 active drivers, its fleet generated nearly E1.5 million in revenue despite missing a staggering 70 percent of ride requests due to lack of availability . "If we had met demand, drivers could have taken home between E6 million and E7 million," Matsebula noted, framing the data as an undeniable summons for youth participation. The impending launch of food and parcel delivery services promises to expand this earning potential to scooter and motorbike owners, weaving a wider net for income generation.

A Peculiar People Chairman Melusi Zox Dlamini framed the significance of the handover in broader social terms, observing that the sight of young entrepreneurs building systems for other entrepreneurs is precisely the economic stimulus the nation requires.
