๐ Leap Taxi App Partners with Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair ๐ธ๐ฟDriving Innovation, Creating Jobs, and Empowering Local Businesses
On 12 February 2026, at Mountain View International Hotel, Leap Taxi App proudly announced an exciting partnership with A Peculiar Peoples Person , committing a R75,000 sponsorship over three years (R25,000 per year).
Through this partnership, Leap Taxi App becomes the Official Transportation Partner for the Made In Eswatini Consumer Fair, taking place on 1 May 2026 on Dr Sishayi Road.
In addition, through its sister company Leap IT and General Suppliers, Leap Taxi will also serve as the Official Technology Partner for Made in Eswatini, responsible for the development and ongoing support of the Made in Eswatini eCommerce platform.
This platform will allow Made in Eswatini products to be sold locally and internationally, and will also be supported by the Leap Taxi App Food and Parcel Delivery Platform, which is launching later this year.
๐ป Introducing the Made in Eswatini Tech Space
As part of this partnership, Leap Taxi App will also curate and host a Technology Space at the Made In Eswatini Consumer Fair on 1 May 2026.
The Tech Space will provide Made in Eswatini technology companies, startups, developers, and digital innovators with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the public, investors, businesses, and government stakeholders.
This initiative aims to highlight the growing technology ecosystem in Eswatini, while creating opportunities for local tech solutions to gain visibility, partnerships, and market access.
๐ค Creating Jobs Through Technology
During the sponsorship announcement, Leap Taxi App Director, Vusani Matsebula, highlighted the significant economic opportunities created by the platform.
In 2025, 52 licensed taxi drivers registered on the platform, but only 31 drivers were actively servicing demand. Despite this limited supply, drivers collectively generated over R1.5 million in revenue.
However, the data also revealed a major opportunity:
โข The R1.5 million revenue came from only about 30% of total ride demand
โข Nearly 70% of ride requests were lost due to driver unavailability
โข Most missed rides occurred between 10PM and 5AM
If driver availability matched demand, the platform could have generated over R6 million in driver revenue.
Importantly, Leap Taxi drivers keep 100% of the revenue they generate, making it a powerful platform for income generation and youth employment.
๐ก Prioritizing Passenger Safety
At Leap Taxi App, safety remains a top priority. We strongly encourage drivers to prioritize passenger safety and operate professionally at all times.
Leap Taxi App also assists drivers in acquiring vehicle insurance that includes passenger liability cover, an initiative that has been greatly supported by stakeholders within the tourism industry, as it strengthens confidence in the countryโs transportation services.
Present during the sponsorship announcement was the Chairperson of Hotaes,Mr. Marc Ward, who emphasized the importance of ensuring that tourists visiting Eswatini can easily access safe, reliable, and professional transportation services, just as they do in other countries around the world.
๐ Call to Action for Taxi Operators
We encourage licensed taxi drivers to join Leap Taxi App today and start benefiting from the growing demand for ride services.
Drivers with qualifying vehicles are also encouraged to obtain the necessary taxi permits so they can operate legally and take advantage of the opportunities available through the platform.
Our team is available to assist drivers with compliance information and the onboarding process.
