A 58-year-old man of Mbangweni appeared in court yesterday following his arrest by Nhlangano in connection with the alleged r**e of a minor.

The man was arrested and charged after received a report that on May 24, 2026 at about 1900 hours, it was discovered that a 15-year-old girl had been r**ed while at a children’s home in Nhlangano.

An investigation was launched and findings led officers to the , who was a security guard at the institution.

According to available information, on the day of the incident the victim was with another child when the suspect accosted them. He sent the other child away and took the victim into the guard house, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The child he sent away reportedly lingered outside and witnessed the act.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service condemns in the strongest terms sexual violations against minor children, girls and women. views such acts as abhorrent and a gross violation of human rights. The further appeal to parents, guardians, caregivers and institutions to remain vigilant and create safe environments for children at all times. Protecting children is everyone's responsibility. Let us work together to end this scourge.

Matsapha are investigating a robbery in which a 31-year-old man of Nhlambeni was robbed E27 500-00 money in cash and valuables worth E5000-00 at knife point.

The offence occurred on June 3, 2026 at about 1300 hours in the bushes next to Kellogg’s Firm at Matsapha Industrial Site.

According available information, the victim was walking with a male friend when they decided to rest under trees to get some air. Two unknown men armed with knives then approached and robbed him the money and valuables.

The victim claimed he was carrying the lump sum to buy car parts in Matsapha.

Hlathikhulu have arrested and charged a 28-year-old woman of Lugedzeni with murder for allegedly killing her 62-year-old aunt.

The deceased was assaulted with an iron rod on the upper part of her body during the night of June 2, 2026. The allegedly became violent while demanding food and began assaulting the deceased.

Police were called to the scene and rushed the victim to Hlathikhulu Government Hospital before apprehending the suspect, who was initially charged with a SODV offence. The woman later succumbed to her injuries in the afternoon of June 3, 2026 while undergoing treatment.

A mental evaluation will also be conducted on the . She appears today at the Nhlangano Magistrate’s Court.

Pigg's Peak have made a breakthrough in a spate of robberies, housebreaking and theft cases in the precinct following the arrest of a 25-year-old man of Ndzingeni.

The was arrested on June 1, 2026 at about 1700 hours around the Ndwabangeni area in Mhlangatane after received information that he would be entering the country through an informal entry point at Ndwabangeni. He and other accomplices, who are still at large, are alleged to have pounced on community members, robbing them of valuables at gunpoint or with knives to induce submission.

In one of the offences, the allegedly robbed a man his car and firearm. They also robbed a 37-year-old man of Mzimnene area his Honda Fit sedan valued at E50 000-00, E35 000-00 in cash and a Samsung cellphone worth E1 800-00. The car was later found dumped at a car wash in Luve.

In another gunpoint robbery at Mavula, the allegedly raided a grocery shop and stole groceries, cellphones and cash amounting to E3 303-00.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the terrorise areas in Northern Hhohho including Ndwabangeni, Mavula, Mzimnene and Ndzingeni. After committing these offences, they escape through the informal entry point at Ndwabangeni to commit crimes in South Africa before returning to hide in Eswatini.

Police investigations to apprehend the other suspects, both Swazi and South African nationals, are ongoing. Anyone with information may contact the nearest police station, toll free number 999/112 or Pigg's Peak station Desk Officer Inspector Motsa 76058445. The suspect will appear at the Pigg's Peak Magistrate Court today.

Hlathikhulu have arrested and charged a 45-year-old woman of Nhlangano and her 25-year-old daughter in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old man of Nhlangano.

The deceased was killed around Hlathikhulu on May 19, 2026 at about 1530 hours. The two women allegedly withheld crucial information relating to the murder and tampered with the crime scene in an attempt to conceal evidence and protect the male perpetrator. The suspect stabbed the deceased once in the chest with a sharp object.

The first accused person, a 43-year-old man, was arrested on May 21, 2026 at around 0200 hours while at his parental homestead at KaGodloza.

Both women were arrested on June 3, 2026 at around 1600 hours and they are charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice. They will appear this morning at the Nhlangano Magistrate's Courts. Applications to conjoin the case with that of the male suspect will also be made during proceedings.
